Sunapee Happenings
Upon waking Monday morning, we had the illusion of being caught up in a beautiful, giant Snow Globe as a blizzard swirled around.
View from the window when sun shone brightly in the afternoon... post snow storm.

Quite a different Sunapee view was shared by a couple of Sunapee “snowbirds” (currently basking in the Florida sunshine) sourced from the Lonely Planet website’s feature entitled: “Top lakes in the USA you’ve probably never heard of...” Number 1 being... drumroll: Lake Sunapee!
"Ice In" on Lake Sunapee!
Back to wintertime.  Ice rinks all over the Sunapee Region are now open, much to the delight of figure skaters, hockey players and toddlers pushing milk crates... trying on skates for the first time.
LSPA officially declared “Ice In” on Lake Sunapee!... and also cautions fishermen, skaters and Ice Boaters to exercise caution. See the guidelines re: thickness & stability of the ice.
Cue the Music
Shall we dance into ’22?

“Uptown Funk” from classic movies.
Sunapee Spotlight
Hometown Hero Banners will fly over Sunapee from Memorial Day to Labor Day, honoring a current or former Sunapee resident. Perhaps your hero served in the armed forces, or was the police officer who came to help you in the dark of night, the firefighter or EMT who left their home to answer your 911 call, the DPW driver working in a snow storm to keep the roads safe for you? Honor those who teach and nurture our children or the skilled medical professionals risking their health in a pandemic by helping the ill or injured.

To purchase a Heroes banner ($175.) recognizing their service to our community, CLICK HERE. When the banners come down, they will be given to the Hero or their family.  This is a Friends of Sunapee Recreation (a 501(c)3 nonprofit, fund raiser to support improvements and enhancements to recreation programs in Sunapee.

One Last Video...
One last video... cute, but balance challenged Polar Bear on ice. If they ever succeed with the filming, the bear will join the ranks of Geckos and Emus starring in commercials.  Warning: You cannot, not laugh!

“All the disasters of mankind, all the misfortunes that histories are so full of, the blunders of politicians, the miscarriages
of great commanders... all this comes from want of skill in dancing.”   Moliere
