My office has been receiving many calls regarding the public hearing on the property on Route 60 west of our office across from the Mac Dealership. It is my understanding the petitioner is requesting a continuance to a later date.



Per the county rules, the ZBA is required at this late date to open the hearing on the 19th but will do so only to continue the hearing to a later date and will not hear the case on the 19th.


You will still be allowed to make public comment if you wish. or you can wait to do so at the continued hearing date once that is set.


PUBLIC ATTENDANCE: There are two options for the public to attend this hearing: (1) In-person attendance on the 2nd floor Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville, Illinois or (2) Remote/virtual attendance by registering using this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ihk3gImJSsygiir61MuA1Q#/registration.


PUBLIC COMMENT: Public comment may be presented during the hearing by individuals, whether attending remotely or in person, or may be submitted in writing. Written comments may be emailed or delivered to the Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville, Illinois. Email Public Comments to PBDZoning@lakecountyil.gov with the following information: * Subject Title: ZBA #_____ (Include Case Number) * Name * Organization/agency/etc. represented. (If representing yourself, put "Self") Comments received by one hour prior to the start of the hearing will be provided to the ZBA prior to the close of testimony. Public comments are limited to three minutes per individual or spokesperson pursuant to the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) Bylaws. Interested persons that wish to present evidence and/or conduct witness cross-examination may do so following the instructions in the ZBA Rules at https://www.lakecountyil.gov/1881/Zoning-Board-of-Appeals

Tighthead Mundelein Grand Prix Bicycle Race

Detour Notice: On Monday, July 24th, from approximately 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, several downtown streets will be closed to vehicular traffic as the Tighthead Mundelein Grand Prix comes to town. Traffic along Hawley Street, east of Lake Street and west of Morris Avenue, should follow the designated detour route to Maple Avenue.

Route 60 Road Closure

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that a culvert replacement project on Illinois 60 at Arden Lane, in Round Lake, will begin, weather permitting, the week of July 24.


The project will require closing Illinois 60 from Belvidere Road (Illinois 120) to Peterson Road. A detour will direct motorists to Belvidere, Alleghany and Peterson roads. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout construction.


The work is expected to be completed in October.



Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment. 

Winchester Road to Close

Winchester Road to Close on July 26 for 45 Days

Lake County is closing Winchester Road, from Butterfield Road to IL 21, to through traffic starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26. The road will be closed for 45 days and is expected to reopen the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 8. The closure is necessary for a box culvert replacement in Bull Creek as part of the Winchester Road resurfacing project.


Detour Route: Butterfield Road to IL 137 to IL 21.

• Local traffic will have access from Butterfield Road to the closure for the work site east of Jeremy Lane



• Local traffic will have access from IL 21 to Ellis Avenue (Libertyville Township Offices) and the Lake County Government Campus

Grand Dominion Car Show on August 13

Ride Lake County  Pace Bus Service

Ride Lake County is a borderless countywide paratransit service that provides seniors age 60+ and people with disabilities transportation to any area of Lake County for work, shopping, medical appointments and more. 


As a reservation-based program, vehicles do not travel on a fixed route each day. Riders schedule their trips in advance and the vehicles provide curb-to-curb service from the rider's desired pick-up and drop-off destinations. Ride Lake County is a shared-ride service, so vehicles may make stops for other passengers.

Your Donations Go To Local Rescues

The local animal shelters are in need of sheets, towels, small throw rugs and blankets. There is a bin on our front porch at 22385 Route 60, Mundelein, if you have any old bedding you would like to donate. No pillows! The donations get distributed to shelters. We also accept leashes, collars, toys, pet food etc.

Recycle Items at Fremont Township

Our shoe bin is also on our front porch and we are accepting shoes to be recycled and reused. Please tie or rubberband the shoes together when you drop them off.


We accept yarn in our office.


We accept eyeglasses and hearing aids in our office.


We accept American Flags in our office.


The textile bin is also open and is located in our parking lot.
