Can you guess what barbecuing and
physical fitness & sports have in common?

May is both National Barbecue and Physical Fitness & Sports Month.

While cooking on the grill in the backyard as a family you can also fit in some physical activity!

Celebrating National Barbecue month is pretty easy, all you have to do is pick a beautiful day, a good recipe, grab some veggies and some protein and throw it on the barbecue.
There are important things to remember about grill safety. Click here to find out more!

During National Physical Fitness & Sports month there are many ways to celebrate!

Start Today:

  • Bike or walk instead of driving when possible.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Park further away at work or when shopping.
  • Children should play, run, jump, climb, and step away from electronics to get some movement in.
Remember you don't need to run a marathon or work out in a gym daily to get the health benefits. Adults should aim for 30 minutes at least 5 days a week. We know it can be hard to fit physical activities into our lives at times. Just remember that you can do 10-15 minutes at a time to reach your goal!

To find out more on how much activity you or your children need each day and more tips on how to reach your goals click here!

Physical activity can boost your mood, sharpen your focus, reduce
your stress and improve your sleep. So, get moving today, move your way!
