Part 1:
Stuff you have to do,
so you might as well know
how to do it well.

Washington REALTORS® Legal Hotline lawyer Annie Fitzsimmons and Spokane REALTOR®/Instructor Sabrina Jones-Schroeder JD, have been working on a seven-part video series on real estate issues regulated by the DOL.
In this first video in the series, Annie and Sabrina discuss the "stuff" you need to know if you receive a letter from the Department of Licensing regarding a complaint against you.

NAR’s Yun Says Housing Market Doing Well, May Normalize in 2022
The outlook for the residential real estate market, which performed exceptionally well during the height of the pandemic, continues to be promising, according to NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun.

Yun delivered the assessment at the National Association of Realtors®' 2021 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Sand Diego, California.

"All markets are seeing strong conditions and home sales are the best they have been in 15 years, Yun said. "The housing sector's success will continue, but I don't expect next year's performance to exceed this year's."
An unknown, he said, is how remote work opportunities will play out in the future and advised that the industry keep that in mind.

"We are only in the first innings of work-from-home options," Yun said. "People have not fully digested the work-from-home-flexibility model yet in determining home size and locational choice."

Dr. Yun was interviewed about his remarks on the convention floor.

NAR Announces New Guidance
that Reinforces Greater Transparency for Consumers
The National Association of Realtors® announced, this week, the adoption of changes to its guidance for local Multiple Listing Service broker marketplaces that reinforce greater transparency for consumers.

The changes ensure disclosure of compensation offered to buyer agents, ensure listings are not excluded from search results based on the amount of compensation offered to buyer agents, and reinforce that buyer brokers do not represent their services as free.

The NAR Board of Directors adopted the changes to take effect January 1, 2022.
