Explore how faith intersects culture on the silver screen. Led by Rev. Dan Hutchinson and John Shelton, we are examining secular movies and searching out Christian themes that emerge. In August, we are diving into season one of “The Chosen” and will review how scripture is messaged and depicted through this series. Pastors and lay teachers will lead our conversations. Our annual ping pong tournament is back and includes a cookout lunch. All ages are invited to play including kids, youth and adults … and there is a new women’s bracket. McLaughlin’s first book, “Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion” (2019) was named “Book of the Year” by Christianity Today and has been part of Dr. Jim Miller’s Pastor’s Study course. McLaughlin is the co-founder of Vocable Communications, a communications firm dedicated to helping leaders change minds. | |

Join us for Ron Pearson’s 50th Annual Organ Concert featuring Josef Rheinberger’s Concerto no. 2 in G minor, op. 177 for organ, strings, two horns, two trumpets and timpani. Works by J.S. Bach, Denis Bedard and Charles-Marie Widor will be included. Guest artists include The University of Tulsa Chamber Orchestra, Rick Wagner conducting. The concert is free and open to the public. Following the concert there will be a reception in the First Church Atrium. Join us and help us celebrate Ron’s 50th annual concert. | |
