introducing the affordable housing financing fund website |
CHFA and OEDIT recently launched a dedicated Affordable Housing Financing Fund website.
In November 2022, Colorado voters passed Proposition 123, a ballot measure authorizing the state to retain money from existing state tax revenue to support affordable housing investment. These funds are split 60/40 between the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) through its Division of Housing (DOH), respectively.
OEDIT manages the Affordable Housing Financing Fund, in partnership with CHFA, which serves as Contract Administrator. DOH manages the Affordable Housing Support Fund.
The new website is dedicated to the Affordable Housing Financing Fund, which has priorities to support land banking, equity, and debt investment to advance affordable housing across the state.

technical assistance webinar and pre-application deadline |
CHFA is accepting applications for participation in its Small-scale Housing Technical Assistance program. The program helps catalyze small-scale affordable housing developments by providing access to pro bono affordable housing consulting and pre-development grant assistance. The 2023 Round Two pre-application deadline is August 4th.
A webinar for interested and prospective applicants will be held Monday, July 17th, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm MDT. Topics covered will include a review of eligible applicants and project types, including neuro-inclusive housing and pre-development activities. Details on how to apply as well as program takeaways will be shared.
| Eligible activities under CHFA’s technical assistance program include community engagement, market studies, site identification, site feasibility, soils study, environmental site assessment, project visioning and conceptualization, financial modeling, real estate planning, cost estimating, architect and design concepts, and energy-efficiency and performance modeling. | |
own your tomorrow homebuyer workshops |
CHFA is committed to increasing Black and African American homeownership in Colorado. As part of this commitment, CHFA is hosting four free in-person homebuyer workshops throughout the summer. Attendees will hear from CHFA staff and other industry experts on the homebuying process, and how first-time homebuyers can achieve homeownership, even in the face of challenging market conditions.
The next workshop is taking place in Colorado Springs on Saturday, July 15th, from 9:30am to 11:30am.
More information and links to register are available on the CHFA website.

david w. herlinger golf tournament |
On July 19th, CHFA will host its annual golf tournament, which is named to posthumously honor CHFA’s former Executive Director and is an ongoing tribute to his years of dedication and passion for our mission.
Every year, CHFA’s golf tournament raises funds to support nonprofits whose work aligns with CHFA's mission of investing in affordable housing and community development. The 2023 event will support the Home Builders Foundation, a nonprofit building independence for those living with physical disabilities.
Those wishing to join CHFA in supporting the work of the Home Builders Foundation are encouraged to make a donation.
