Parent Portal

The Parent Portal is a web-based information system that all Boone County Schools use to house information and data about your child. It is a great way to stay on top of your child's progress throughout the school year. Your child's grades are updated on a weekly basis so you can be as up-to-date with their progress as possible.

Your log in works from school to school within Boone County, so if you had access from the elementary or middle school in prior years, you can use that access information for your child @ Cooper.

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS:

1. If you do not have access to log-in; please stop by our main office to obtain the activation code and step-by-step instructions. You will need a photo ID in order to receive the activation code. See our receptionist, Holly Staton.

2. Once you have access; please check the information we have on file to ensure it is correct.

ACT Registration

Don't wait much longer if you plan on taking the ACT Test on April 2. The registration deadline is February 25th (without late fees)! We encourage juniors to take the ACT during their junior year. However, taking the ACT multiple times, in many instances helps students become more comfortable with the format and environment.

Any student that has a free/reduced lunch status can take the ACT for free twice not including the state provided ACT test for all juniors on March 8th. Any student with a free/reduced lunch status should stop by the guidance office to pick up a form to receive two free ACT tests.

One or Two Hour Delays

There is a possibility as we progress through the last part of our the winter season that our district could operate on a ONE or TWO hour delay instead of an all-remote learning day in order to maximize in-person instructional time.

All schools start either one or two hours later than normal. Buses may run their regular routes or an altered route depending on weather and road conditions at the time; just add one or two hours to the regularly scheduled pick up times depending on the length of the delay.

See below for our delay schedule for both remote and in-person should this be used for inclement weather situations.

One Hour Delay: school will start at 8:40amTwo Hour Delay: school will start at 9:40am

Inclement Weather

Ever wonder how, why or if school is delayed or canceled due to extreme cold temperatures or other winter weather? Check out the wind chill information sheet. You can also view the inclement weather information sheet to find out more about the process and how the decision is made by our district office officials.

Inclement Weather Information

Wind Chill Information Sheet

We urge students to wear a coat, winter hats, gloves, heavy coats (layer up) and boots during cold weather. Frostbite and hypothermia are serious risks as well as potential bus or vehicle trouble to and from school.

In the event school is delayed, cancelled or dismissed early, we will send out an automated text message to the primary household, as well as, post the information on our social media outlets and webpage.

Text messages is one of the ways we communicate information to our families. Text messaging will be used for inclement weather delays and closing in addition to reminders of upcoming events.
