SPRING BULBS ARE HERE
It's a rainbow of color in the annual house, inspiring all sorts of people to plant the flower garden of their dreams. Shopping bulbs this way is wonderful because you can compare colors of the flowers, bloom time, and flower height just by looking at the boxes. I have already designed at least 5 different plantings in my head. Pair a row of black calla-lilies with coral dahlias? Add in a row of hot pink Stargazer lilies? I need a bigger yard!
Remember it is always a good idea to amend your soil with Bulb-tone or blood meal when planting bulbs. Also pay attention to the depth at which you are planting your bulbs. The general rule of thumb for planting spring bulbs is to plant two to three times as deep as the bulb is tall. This means most large bulbs will be planted about 6 inches deep while smaller bulbs will be planted 3-4 inches deep. Look at the back of your bulb package for specific planting information.
Bulb-tone and bone meal from Espoma have high levels of phosphorus which is essential for bulbs to encourage root development. The phosphorus needs to be mixed in the soil below where the bulbs will be located so it can be utilized by the bulb roots. Click here to learn more about Espoma products.
Weeks Roses have arrived
If you placed a pre-order for roses from Weeks, or if you would like to come out and select one, come on down! If you are still waiting on roses from Star, please check back in next week. It's been a weird year for most things, including roses so we are a little behind schedule this year, but not to worry! We will have all of our bare-root roses out and available as soon as we can.
Hand tied smudge sticks
Cleanse your home, purify your space and bring calm and blessings into your life in times of need. Sacred sage, also known as Salvia apiana has been used for decades in cleansing rituals of the home or commonly used spaces. Just light one end of the sage, blow out the flame and the trail of fragrant smoke can be used to restore positive energy. Or we can at least believe it is. And sometimes that is just as good.
Don't forget about your calendar!
And all the coupons in the back! There is a coupon for every month of the year. This month it is a free regularly priced pansy or primrose with any purchase of $5.00 or more. We have some adorably cute pansies and primroses just waiting to go home with you. You have just 24 days left to use this coupon, so don't wait! And if you don't have your Garland calendar yet, what are you thinking? Come get one!
Solar Garden Lights & Lanterns
Who doesn't love renewable energy? These special garden lights are powered by the sun! Hanging lanterns, decorative mosaic balls, dragonfly mobiles and butterfly garden stakes! Nothing enchants and entrances like twinkly lights in the garden after nightfall. Take a stroll through your yard with a relaxing beverage while butterflies and dragonflies light your path. "This way, this way!" You hear them whisper. "I wonder where they are taking me?" you think. You also start to wonder what was in that relaxing beverage after all....
"Let me tell ya 'bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees and the moon up above, aaaand a thing called loooove!"
Speaking of looove, our Garland elves have been loving unpacking box after box filled to the brim with beautiful, unique and humorous metal garden art. Butterflies and dragonflies seem to fly effortlessly through your backyard as the birds in the trees gaze down on you (all metal of course!) Just remember to put your little quails on the ground because they are very laid back birds who prefer to walk after all. But don't be fooled! If startled, quails can fly up to 40 MPH (the real ones, not the metal ones) just not for a sustained period of time.
You spin me right 'round, baby!
Stroll on through our nursery and admire our new eye-catching and extra fabulous spinners! Mesmerizing and hypnotic, garden spinners are a great way to add some year round color and intrigue to your outdoor space.

Fanta loved playing in the snow but now she is cold and dreaming of warmer weather.
Unfortunately Punxsutawney Phil declared 6 more weeks of winter
are in order. . . Although we can't promise Fanta likes taking his
word for things. "Pish, posh Punxsutawney!" She mews.
