June Journeys

Part 1

Greetings Ministry Partners,

The month of June was a busy time with the staff of CCI Philippines traveling to different places for the ministry and making progress in their respective areas.

In Valencia, Bohol, six believers were baptized in water by Pastor Herbert Japos who is now finishing up his training with CCI. Their church, The Gospel House Inc, was established by Roland Tagud who graduated in 2016 and is now the lead pastor. The church has grown to more than 50 members now. Pastor Herbert and his wife Edith hope to finish CCI training later this year.

We appreciate your prayers and support.

Staff Update

The CCI motorcycle gang strikes again. Pastor Val, Pastor Dominto and several volunteer trainers from Bukidnon rode on six motorcyles to the province of Agusan del Sur to encourage the pastors there to join CCI training. They decided to start a class on the last week of August with about 20 students. Agusan is more than 300 kilometers away from Bukidnon so they will need to find and train teachers who live in that area. Once they have established a training hub in Agusan, they will be able to train pastors in the surrounding provinces.

Please pray for the safety of these pastors as they have to travel for eight hours on mountain roads, teach for one or more days, and then ride back to their homes. They bring the food that they would need for the duration of the mission in order not to be a burden to the people they are serving.

Pastor Melvin led a God’s Financial Principles seminar at Island Gospel Ministries in Talibon, Bohol. We had 39 fishermen/pastors and church workers in attendance.

Testimonies

While visiting a church in Inabanga, we heard several testimonies from the students and community.

One of the neighbors of the church named “Boy”, used to persecute the church, but he was touched by the care and concern that Christians showed him after Typhoon Odette ravaged their community. He is now helping the ministry by calling people together for church activities. He is the man in the blue shirt in the photo.

Please pray for Joy and Susan (the couple on the right) as they continue to minister to the people of Inabanga. Susan has graduated and her husband Joy is graduating in July.

Prayer Requests & Praises

● Please pray for the five students who graduated in June. They are the second batch of graduates in Mariveles, Bataan. Because of their desire to be equipped, they continued meeting face-to-face even during the pandemic. Pray that all the graduates will help train the third batch of CCI students.

Please pray for the strength, health and safety of our staff and their families.

● Please pray for our upcoming Global Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand in November. CCI is taking care of our lodging, food, and local transportation. But we need to provide for our own transportation to Thailand. Please pray for God to provide. If you would like to help, that would be a tremendous blessing for our team. Click below to help.

Will You Help Us Get to the Global Conference?
