Easter Weekend and Beyond
The "Annual" Indoor Flea Market and Craft Sale at Warner Town Hall is on Saturday, April 16, 9 - 2 (Easter Weekend). Table fees and raffle ticket sales benefit the library. Contact Nancy Ladd at the Library 603-456-2289 or pay online to book a table/space ($15). Registration is now online HERE.

Family Closet Thrift Boutique will have a $1 Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, April 16, 9:00am to 3:00pm (shop is open until 4:00). This is the same day as the Indoor Flea Market and Craft Sale at the Warner Town Hall. Shop for $1 an item or get 6 items for $5! To be held outdoors or indoors, depending on weather. Inside the shop will also have a color coded tag sale on regular merchandise. 
Family Closet is at 49 W.Main Street in the Warner Community Center, only 2 blocks from the Town Hall. All proceeds support Warner Connects Food Pantry and Resource Center.

The annual Children's Fishing Derby will be on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Children's Brook on Pumpkin Hill Rd. Children under 16 years of age can start registering at 6:30 am. The Derby is from 7 am to 11 am. Complimentary hot dog or hamburger, and a cold drink for all registered children. Cash prizes! WYSA opening day celebration for Baseball and Softball is back this year!
WYSA is looking for someone to come and offer face painting, and for raffle donations.

Warner Public Market's art sales section features local artist Jan Schaffer on their walls through mid May. Spemki Nib8iwi - The Heavens in the Nighttime will be on Saturday, April 23 from 7-9 pm. This free program at Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum is in collaboration with the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center and will feature an Indigenous focus to star gazing. Dress for the weather and bring your own chairs. 2022 Spring into Warner, will be held on Saturday, May 14, 9 am to 3 pm on Main Street in Warner (outdoors except for Museum visits). Artists and craftspeople, dancers, musicians, and other performers all welcome. Season's opening of Warner Area Farmer's Market on Town Hall lawn, Used book sale, Museum tours and Exhibits etc. Contact Warner Historical Society or Warner Area Farmer's Market for spaces at their locations, or Nancy Ladd at the Pillsbury Free Library for other Main Street spaces.

COVID News
Federal mask mandates for public transportation (bus, train, air) has been extended to May 3. Free N95 masks are available at some major pharmacies, 3 per visit.

Covid numbers in Philadelphia have risen enough for reinstatement of indoor mask rules.

NEW CDC guidelines for isolation and quarantine have big changes:

If you have health insurance through an employer or Marketplace, your insurance will pay you back for 8 at-⁠home tests each month for each person on your plan.
More about insurance reimbursement. In NH, pop-up testing sites closed in March but you can arrange for a test through your Doctor's office.
FREE at- home rapid tests available from https://www.covidtests.gov/ are still available. A second order is allowed. Tests can also be bought at NH Liquor stores.

Warner's new cases reported: 1 reported since last Thursday, 1-4 active as of 04/14/22. Total so far 624. www.wmur.com/article/covid-19-cases-nh-town/37155089#. Note positive Home tests are usually not added.

Merrimack County is currently rated as LOW risk by the CDC County Check Tool (based on hospitalizations and deaths, not total cases). "People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask."

Vaccination data:
Warner: 67% fully vaccinated, 75% at least one dose.
Merrimack County (CDC) over age 5: 72.1% fully vaccinated, 90.9% at least 1 dose.

To get a COVID-19 vaccine: vaccines.nh.gov or call 211. Vaccinations for Covid-19 are FREE, and available for ages 5 and up. Second boosters available for ages 50+.
NH fixed vaccination sites include Concord, 8 am to 2 pm every day . https://convenientmd.com/vaccine/concord/ You can also schedule a vaccine through your doctor's office.

Registration is open to receive a free tray of vegetable seedlings at the end of May to augment your fresh produce this summer. Call 603-456-2053 to sign up.

Financial help for property taxes: submit by April 15
April 15th is the deadline to file for Elderly Exemptions, Solar Exemptions, the Blind Exemption, and the Veteran's tax credit. The application for all exemptions and credits is the PA-29 form, available in Town Hall and www.revenue.nh.gov/forms/exempt-credit.htm.

April 15 is also the deadline for property owners seeking tax relief for their historic agricultural structures. All New Hampshire towns and cities are authorized by state law (RSA 79-D) to grant property tax relief to owners of historic barns and farm buildings who can demonstrate the public benefit of preserving these structures. A housing resource information program run by Rachel Thomas, realtor and board member of Habitat for Humanity, kicks off on April 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Warner Connects NH and continues monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Call 603-456-2053 for more info and/or appointment.

Teen Talk by Ella
Liz Lighty has always tried to avoid the spotlight in her small, wealthy, and prom-obsessed midwestern high school; instead she has concentrated on her grades and her musical ability, hoping it will win her a scholarship to elite Pennington College to study medicine--but when that scholarship falls through she is forced to turn to her school's scholarship for prom king and queen, which plunges her into the gauntlet of social media and leading to discoveries about her own identity and the value of true friendships.
You Should See Me in a Crown is nominated for the 2022 Flume Award! To be nominated for this award, it must be voted on by New Hampshire 9th-12th graders.

Running is nominated for the 2022 Isinglass Awards! To be nominated for this award, it must be voted on by 7th-8th graders in New Hampshire and must be a standalone fiction or nonfiction book. APRIL is Voting month for Isinglass.

Miss Sue's News (for Kids)
New Children's Items in our catalog:
The Baba Yaga play is less than ONE MONTH away, May 7, 4 pm in the Warner Town Hall! The "entrance fee" will be a donation to the food pantry.

The Great Stone Face party was a blast! Who had more fun, the kids or Miss Sue??
Thank you to the parents for the yummy pot luck meal!
Votes were taken and "Brave Like That" is the winner here. Miss Sue submitted them and now we wait for the State results to name the winner for NH for 2022!
Storytimes with Miss Sue, every Thursday at 10:30 am - stories, songs, fingerplays, and a craft. It's back to being held in the Children's room.

The next After School Craft is Wednesday April 20th. Please RSVP to Miss Sue and Miss Wendy at Simonds. This month the event is coordinating with Kearsarge Community Network dealing with resiliency and sustainability. Miss Sue will read "Stone Soup" by Marcia Brown and we'll make "easy soup in a jar" kits for everyone to take home, as well as for the food pantry. It's quite a "process" so if anyone would like to help out and can be in the Warner Town Hall, 3-4:00 pm, Miss Sue would appreciate the extra hands. Call 603-456-2289 or email to let her know.

Library News
Covid protocols at the Library: We are no longer holding returned items in quarantine, so they can be returned inside when we are open, instead of placing them in the Book Drop slot outside. Masks are now optional but encouraged, during library visits unless/ until Covid numbers rise again. Curbside pickup is an option for anyone.
Thanks for helping us provide safe space for our most vulnerable residents, of all ages!
Library Trustee committees meetings include the Monthly Board Meeting on the third Tuesday of each month (at 6:30 pm, in person now), and various Committee meetings, some that meet monthly, vary in time.
Trustee meetings are published 24-48 hours in advance on the Warner Events Calendar. Approved minutes are published on the Trustee Meetings page.
