Executive Meeting Highlights
    
The UBCM Executive held its quarterly committee and board meetings over February 16-19. Eight committees met to cover policy matters and provide direction on nearly 80 referred resolutions from the 2020 Convention. Executive members also welcomed a delegation from the Minister of Municipal Affairs, the Honourable Josie Osborne. Read more
 
Increased funding through Community-to-Community Forum
    
Applications are being accepted for the 2021/22 Regional Community to Community Forum program. To support dialogue related to COVID-19 response and recovery, grants now cover up to 100% of eligible forum costs. Funding permitting, there will be three intakes available over the fiscal year. Feedback sought on drought level proposal
    
The Province is seeking local government feedback on a proposal to update B.C.'s current drought level scale. The proposal seeks to update and enhance existing drought levels to better align with the North American Drought Monitor and more accurately communicate drought and water scarcity conditions. The Province's dedicated webpage provides additional information, including how to submit feedback prior to the March 31 deadline.
