Celebrating Achievement and Meaningful Work
Recognizing accomplishment is a gift that validates excellence while providing inspiration and passion for others to set and attain goals. Today, I am filled with pride to announce that AGC of Minnesota was honored this week by our peer chapters across the country to receive the national AGC of America 2023 Chapter Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award. It is a gross understatement to say that we are thrilled and humbled for this recognition, but we acknowledge that our work in this space has only begun.

Just four short years ago, our board of directors made a commitment to elevate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as a strategic initiative for the association and set us on a course to build a more inclusive and welcoming AGC member experience. Central to the challenge was onboarding a top talent to the AGC staff who could both lead and inspire the commitment necessary to change our industry culture. Yolanda McIntosh has stepped into the DEI role with an energy that has challenged convention, inspired action, and transformed the association.
Today, we pause to acknowledge and celebrate the many gifts and talents Yolanda shares as a DEI resource to our members. We also proudly accept the recognition this award brings to the chapter and how it validates the meaningful work necessary to implement change. Thank you to all our members who have taken the Culture of CARE pledge; created and implemented a DEI plan; onboarded diverse talent; or undertaken any host of intentional actions to help drive inclusivity into our industry culture. Today, we celebrate those accomplishments. Tomorrow, we re-commit to the cause.

Recognizing Industry Leaders and Industry-Leading Accomplishments:
AGC Honors
Just as we are honored to be recognized for our work, we look forward to honoring individuals and companies among our membership who exemplify excellence in the Minnesota construction industry.
Each year, AGC of Minnesota solicits nominees to be recognized for career contributions and personal accomplishments that have elevated the industry beyond the boundaries of their respective firm or business. This year, honorees for the AGC Lifetime Achievement Award, Skill Responsibility, and Integrity (SRI) Award, the Jensen Safety Awards, the DEI Awards, and the joint MnDOT/AGC Bridge Awards will be celebrated during an exciting evening of recognition and live entertainment at the 2024 AGC Honors.
The event promises to be a memorable and fun evening that has been purposefully scheduled the night prior to opening the 2024 Minnesota Construction Summit (one week left to get the extra early bird registration rate).
We encourage all AGC members and industry friends to join us in celebrating these truly amazing individuals and firms while also enjoying some great music entertainment provided by renowned Twin Cities musical talent Mick Sterling and his band.
