Drive Thru Advent Event-Sunday from 3-4

The final special event of this Advent Season is this Sunday afternoon from 3:00-4:00. Our traditional Easter Cross has been set up in its usual place on the lawn and decorated with Christmas greenery. Paper prayer card "ornaments" will be available at the foot of the cross so that we can cover the cross with our prayers.

Let's make this a mission project, too! We encourage you to bring food donations for the Coastal Bend Food Bank. Drop off a can and offer a prayer.

But wait--there's more! Just for coming by and participating, you will be given a handmade ornament, reminiscent of the Moravian Star, to hang on your Christmas tree. We couldn't have our traditional Moravian Love Feast this year,
but you can remember celebrations of past years with your own star!

Christmas Eve Worship Services

One of the highlights of the church year is the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. As with so many events this year, this will look differently than in past years.

First, there will be two services, one at 5:30 and one at 7:00. Seating at each will be limited to 150 and masks must be worn throughout the service.

As on Sunday morning, Iris Fielden will sing on behalf of the congregation and there will be special music as well.

We will "illuminate" battery powered candles and exit the church, circle around the cube cross, and sing Silent Night in the open night air.

As with all things in the last 3/4s of 2020, adjustments have been made to keep people healthy and safe, while celebrating the love that comes into our world in Jesus.

Supporting Past, Present, and Future Leaders

The Christmas Joy Offering has been a cherished Presbyterian tradition since the 1930s. The Offering distributes gifts equally to the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions and to Presbyterian-related schools and colleges equipping communities of color. The Assistance Program provides critical financial support to church workers and their families. Presbyterian-related schools and colleges provide education and leadership development while nurturing racial and ethnic heritage (including Presbyterian Pan American School in Kingsville). This has been a Presbyterian commitment for nearly 140 years.

Please give generously to the Christmas Joy Offering!

Mission Market Moves Online!
It's time once again for Parkway's alternative gift giving opportunity. Just think: no long lines at the mall and no shipping charges for online orders. What a wonderful opportunity in the true spirit of the season: a gift for a friend or family member that also benefits others for the coming year and beyond.

There are three recipients this year. Coastal Bend Food Bank, Presbyterian Pan American School and Heifer International. The Mission Market is available through December 22nd.

This year the market is moving entirely online, so you don't even have to leave your house to pick out your gifts. Please go to the online form and do your shopping.

If you need any assistance you can contact Laura at Laura@parkwaypc.org or Pat at PBClements@hotmail.com. We are more than glad to help!

So, buy a gift for friends or family and let your gift continue throughout the year.

Stewardship Pledge Campaign 2021

Please click here to watch our stewardship video.

2020 will go down in history as a year of...something. We didn't always know what we were to do, or the best way to do it, but we still accomplished ministry in Jesus' name.
  • Worship services were held weekly. The platform changed from a recording on ZOOM, to recorded clips edited into a whole, to livestreaming. The format changed, but each week we had an opportunity for worship. Amazingly, the participation in worship online significantly multiplied our reach.
  • Hands-on mission was curtailed at Loaves and Fishes and in Guatemala, but our support for mission continued through your generous donations.
  • Every crisis is also an opportunity and we continue to explore new ways we can be the church, offering hope to a world in need.
Many of you have turned in a pledge for the church's work in 2021.  Thank you.  We have received about half of the pledges we anticipate.  To date, members have pledged $440,200.  We need to hear from everyone!  If you have not made a financial commitment to the church for 2021, you may pledge on the church website under the "Give" tab, or pledge through the Realm app on your phone, or call the church office and let Cheryl or Sue record your pledge.

Click here to fill out your 2021 pledge card.

2020 Donations
For income tax purposes, 2020 donations must be received or postmarked on or before December 31. If you are dropping off a check, the church office will be open until 1:00 on December 30.

If you have any questions please contact our bookkeeper, Sue Jackson at bookkeeper@parkwaypc.org.

It's time to start signing up for the 2021 flowers. We are using Sign Up Genius this year. I will print out an updated list for those who wish to sign up in person on Sunday morning. Click here to sign up.

Loaves and Fishes (Metro Ministries)
Loaves & Fishes is a free cafeteria that serves nutritious dine-in meals for the homeless, poor, working poor, disabled, and elderly. This program provides lunch and dinner Monday through Friday. Parkway has committed to serving in the soup kitchen every Friday, from 4:45 to 6 pm. A food handler's permit is required and quite easy to obtain.

All Parkway shifts have been cancelled until further notice.

Still want to volunteer? Please call Loaves & Fishes at  887-0151, Ext. 242. to let them know you are coming.
Prayer Concerns
If you would like to place a prayer concern onto the prayer chain, please call or text Karen Wesson at 361-815-2099, or send an e-mail to klwesson@stx.rr.com. If you are not currently receiving the prayer chain emails (or your email address has changed) and wish to participate in lifting up concerns of the congregation, you may add yourself to the distribution list by going to your Realm account at www.parkwaypc.org.
