Hi Sanborn friends,
What a start to the new school year! I don’t think any of us expected a day off from school so soon. But it was a chance for some Sanborn spirit as we checked in with one another, offering electricity, childcare help, and just general storm commiseration. The skies cleared just in time for Family Fun Night and it was great to see our community—parents, kids and teachers—having such a blast together.
Events like Tuesday’s are a showcase for what makes our small neighborhood school so special – the relationships that are built. It’s why I and the other seven women on our PTO Board signed up to serve this year and next. We love this Bulldog community and we want to be a part of making it even stronger.
Here’s what we’re all about as a PTO: connecting families to each other and the school; addressing school and teacher needs; enriching our students’ experience through field trips, in school programs, and events; and of course, having a bit of fun while doing it.
As a parent or guardian of a Sanborn student, you are already part of the PTO – congrats! While the PTO board plans the overall structure of our events and programs, it’s all of you who will help us bring it to life. Read below for more information on ways you can serve our school community – whether it’s a one-time chaperone for a field trip, ongoing leadership with a school program, or a donation to support our programs. There’s a fit for everyone.
So, welcome back to Sanborn! I hope to see you at our first PTO meeting of the year on September 26th at 7p in the Sanborn Library. In the meantime, don’t be shy about reaching out!
Abbie Connors
PTO President
P.S. If you have a moment, we've put together a very brief survey about Family Fun Night, as we'd love to know your thoughts.
