Saturday, September 30 | Hybrid Fall Leadership Assembly
The Board of Trustees of the First Universalist Church invites you to join us for a hybrid fall Leadership Assembly. We especially encourage committee chairs and other leaders to attend, but everyone is invited. Please come if you volunteer in any capacity in the church, or if you are just interested in learning more about what we’re all up to. We will share information about what's going on in different areas of church life, and to reflect on the intentions we set for ourselves based on discussions at Leadership Assembly last year. We will also be looking ahead at the calendar for the rest of the church year. You can join us in person at church, or online via Zoom. If you plan to attend, please RSVP here and let us know if you plan to participate in person or online.
Thursday, September 28 | Lunch at Nick Tahou's for the Homeless
On September 28, from 11am to 1pm, Nick Tahou's and the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) will put on a lunch for people experiencing homelessness. Volunteers are needed to take orders and to serve. To volunteer, contact Sr. Beth LeValley at srbeth@ssjrochester.org or Chris DeGolyer. Social service agencies, such as Person-centered Housing Options (PCHO) will be on hand to advise people of services available to them. Also, men's and women's underwear, socks, and personal care items like toothpaste will be available for free. Bring donations of (new) underwear and socks or personal care items to the Clara Barton Lounge by Sunday, September 24. Checks to support the lunch are also welcome; make them payable to Sisters of St. Joseph, with “HOT initiatives” in the memo line. Give them to Marti Eggers or send them to Sr. Beth LeValley, 150 French Rd, Rochester, NY 14618. HOT is a collaboration of the Rochester Police, social service agencies, and faith communities such as Sisters of St Joseph. This is an opportunity for us! Questions? Ask Marti Eggers or Chris DeGolyer.
