The Library's Circle of Friends has teamed up with Simonds Elementary School for a NexTrex recycling program that will keep plastic out of the landfill and result in a beautiful bench for the school if we can collect 500 pounds of plastic, or roughly 40,500 bags in 6 months. Only clean, stretchy plastic is being collected, like saran wrap, bread bags, newspaper and produce bags. No hard or crinkly plastic. We are well on our way already to our goal! Drop your bags in the collection bins at the library (lower level by the elevator), or in the main entrance of the school. Use this as a chance to notice how much plastic could be diverted to recycling or avoided!
