HAWK TALK

We are happy to announce that

WCA has been REACCREDITED!

This week, WCA was reaccredited by the Association for Christian Schools International (ACSI). A key part of ACSI's mission is to strengthen schools. One of the ways they do this is through the process of accreditation. Accreditation with ACSI is a vigorous process of organizational appraisal and improvement that engages all of a school's constituents. Thank you to our administration, Weddington Church board members, teachers, students, and parents that have worked so hard to show ACSI how our Christ-centered mission and vision are carried out in everything we do at WCA.

At the end of this process, ACSI provides commendations on a school's strengths. ACSI commended WCA for achieving well above the norm in the following areas:

  • The school communicates its philosophy, mission, vision, core values statements, and schoolwide expected student outcomes to its constituency and community.
  • Regular, established, and effective two-way communication occurs between the school and its constituents.
  • Teachers and administrators work collaboratively to positively affect school culture, encourage student learning, and promote organizational effectiveness.
  • Instructional strategies and equitable learning activities focus on active student engagement, essential knowledge and skills, biblical wisdom and understanding, and higher-order thinking skills.
  • Age-appropriate opportunities for service and missions, including compassionate outreach to the poor, needy, or vulnerable, are provided as a means of spiritual growth and formation.

We are excited and humbled by these affirmations from a highly regarded association. It is an honor to have the opportunity to continue our work in providing an education of highest academic excellence and Christian spiritual development in a faith community that challenges the mind, prepares the heart, and nurtures the soul; encouraging students and families to represent Christ in action and service.
