Terry Allebach and the crew at the
Franconia Heritage
have a tradition of caring. On Thanksgiving Day,
Franconia Heritage
, along with friends, family and customers, will carry on the tradition of providing a hot meal to area residents in need. As in previous years, they will be directed to these families through area organizations such as Penn Foundation, Keystone Opportunity Center, Indian Creek Foundation, etc. as well as through local school districts. This year will be their 22nd year of providing these dinners.
The
Thanksgiving Meal Project
was born out of a visible need in the community where a food basket seemed insufficient for those with limited means. While there were ample church soup kitchens or food banks that were doing their part, they have heard the wishes of those they spoke with on their ability to prepare such a meal was not possible or too overwhelming
