Special Announcement

Hurricane Ian continues moving through our area today with tropical-storm-force winds and heavy rainfall. Here are some updates and resources to assist BHI property owners. Please check in with your BHI neighbors as safety allows, especially as weather conditions worsen.

BHI Transportation

According to the announcement posted on BHI Transportation's website, Bald Head Island ferry services are suspended today. "Due to continuing severe weather from Hurricane Ian, the Bald Head Island Ferry is suspending all operations Friday, 9/30/2022. Ferry service will resume Saturday morning, 10/1/2022, on our normal schedule."

Trees after a Storm

With any storm, "hanging" and "leaning" trees may become a concern. All property owners should understand the proper process for handling trees and limbs that may be leaning or have fallen. Click HERE for BHA's process regarding trees. For any questions, email trees@baldheadassociation.com

Learn about BHA's Design Guidelines revisions

BHA's Architectural Review Committee (ARC) staff held an informational meeting with BHI contractors and architects to review the recently approved revisions in the 26th edition of BHA's Design Guidelines. By helping inform, our goal is to help reduce/eliminate the number of submittals that don't make it through the ARC process successfully. Therefore, ARC can help service providers save their clients — YOU, the property owner — valuable time and money.

Ask your builder/architect if they've seen the video and share this link with them! Watch the recorded meeting yourself to understand the "why" behind the Design Guidelines and learn how BHA uses this document in order to be a good steward to this very special barrier island for generations to come.
