It's time for Family Palooza registration!! Our next event is on November 4th from 10:00am - 2:00pm in collaboration with the Children's Museum of Skagit County's Full STEAM Ahead event. Participating organizations will be in groupings around a 9-hole mini-golf course. Organizations will share tables with other similar organizations around nine theme areas including pregnancy, basic needs, nutrition, and more! Space is limited, so organizations must register in advance. REGISTER HERE.

Bright by Text, a program of Skagit County Public Health, is now able to send messages to families from our community partners. To submit a request for a text message, please submit a request at least one week in advance. Messages are a maximum of 140 characters and will be sent in English and Spanish. Washington State Health Care Authority – State Interagency Coordinating Council meeting October 18th

In partnership with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), HCA contracted with consultants to review the policies and requirements of Washington State Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) and Apple Health (Medicaid) to assess the intersection of these programs. Join the State Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC) meeting to hear from consultants as they share an overview of the project and their findings.

Provider Learning Series - Families affected by incarceration part 1, Keeping fathers connected with their kids

Incarcerated fathers who stay connected with their children are more likely to be successful upon release and their children benefit as well. Staff from the Department of Corrections and Justice-Involved Dads will share the struggles of keeping fathers connected with their children and what has worked for them.


Business of childcare training – Childcare Aware

This is a comprehensive, uniquely designed business curriculum that will provide enhanced high-level training to early childhood business owners & child care center directors. This curriculum augments business knowledge concepts, marketing strategies and business plan development. This exclusive curriculum was created to deliver hands-on learning activities and tools to strengthen their child care business, prepare for lending opportunities, quality initiatives, facility improvements, program promotion and marketing, financial health and overall program effectiveness.


Skagit County Goodwill Job Training, Registration begins October 2nd

Walk-In Registration begins October 2nd, 2023 through October 12th, 2023, Monday - Thursday, 9 am - 4 pm. Programs include Career Exploration, Job Search Support, Computer Basics and Digital Skills, GED and High School Completion, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Citizenship Test Preparation. This upcoming session includes more evening Computer and ESOL classes. All classes and workshops are free of cost to the community!

In collaboration with the Children’s Council of Skagit County, this position will help design and establish a parent education series as part of an overall effort to build a continuum of early childhood development supports. Skagit Pediatrics now hiring– Behavioral Health Specialist

The Behavioral Health Specialist is an integral member of the patient’s care team, promoting positive child development, behavioral health, and family resilience through the provision of education and therapeutic services. The individual in this position must be willing to engage in brief visits, and adept in working closely with PCPs and other team members. Skagit Pediatrics provides evidence based care and the opportunity to make a real difference in our community as we support patients and families on their journey to better understanding their emotions and behaviors.


DSHS ESA Local Planning Area Partnerships Program Manager

The Local Planning Area Partnerships Program Manager is part of the Community Services Division (CSD), the largest division within the Economic Services Administration (ESA), within the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). The CSD is responsible for programs and policies and executing effective and accurate eligibility decisions statewide for federal and state public assistance programs, including food, cash and medical programs.

Funding Opportunity

AmeriCorps Funding Opportunity: BIPOC-Led and Small Nonprofit Equity Fund

Eligibility: Organizations applying for this grant must be community-based and have a partnership with an existing AmeriCorps program operating in Washington State and fall under the following criteria:

• BIPOC-led (an organization whose CEO or Executive Director is BIPOC OR staff is 50% or greater BIPOC OR Board of Directors is 50% or greater BIPOC, AND whose mission statement and charitable programs aim to predominantly serve BIPOC communities or populations)); or,

• New to hosting an AmeriCorps member AND

• Have an operating budget of less than $2 million.

For the purpose of this fund an organization is considered new to AmeriCorps for one three-year AmeriCorps cycle.
