As the Month of March and its Madness comes to an END, I want to take a brief moment to Honor Brain Injury Awareness month.
As many of you know I had a TBI a few years ago and since that life changing event, my focus has been on maximizing my recovery and optimizing Brain Health!
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1.7 million people sustain a traumatic brain injury each year, and almost half a million of those are children. As I write this my prayers go out to a dear friend and her relative that days ago sustained a severe TBI from a car accident and is in a coma. My heartfelt prayers go out to him and the family.

You do not get to choose the events that come your way nor the sorrows that interrupt your life. They will likely be a surprise to you, catching you off guard and unprepared. You may hold your head in your hands and lament your weak condition and wonder what you ought to do. To suffer, that is common to all. To suffer and still keep your composure, your faith and your smile, that is remarkable. Pain will change you more profoundly than success or good fortune. Suffering shapes your perception of life, your values and priorities, and your goals and dreams. Your pain is changing you.
