OUTDOOR WORSHIP & CHURCH PICNIC

Our annual church picnic will follow an outdoor service at 10:45am on Sunday, October 2. There will be no 9am service that day. The 10:45am service will also be livestreamed. GCC will provide food for the picnic from Mission BBQ! Bring your own chairs/blanket!

Please register HERE to attend. This is a FREE event, but the form includes a way for you to give an online offering to help cover the cost of the food if you wish. If you don't want to give online, please still register using the form but set the amount to $0 before clicking Submit. You will then NOT need to input your credit card information, but we will know that you are coming!

If it rains, the service and picnic will be held indoors.
STARTING POINT CLASS
SUNDAYS 9am - 10:30am

On Sunday, October 9, GCC will start a new round of the 9-week Sunday Morning class called "Starting Point," an introduction to the Christian faith, an introduction to life as a part of the community of believers in this world, and also an introduction to life specifically here at GCC.

Starting Point is just that - a starting point. It is the perfect starting point for those who are SEEKING to know about Jesus, for those who are just STARTING in their faith in Jesus, and for those RETURNING to their faith in Jesus. Starting Point is also the perfect place for those who are relatively new to GCC and want to figure out where they might fit into the life of the church. Starting Point will be from 9-10:30am on Sunday mornings in Room 138. Register HERE
EXPLORING HEALTHY EATING TOGETHER GROUP
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS STARTING OCTOBER 19

Join us in this new group who will learn how to incorporate more plant-based, whole foods into your daily diet. Topics will include:

* scripture's view on food
* modern day food culture
* motivation and barriers to change

Scientific evidence will be presented along with encouragement to rely on the holy Spirit for guidance. Weekly homework will consist of reading one chapter of "The Plan A Diet" by Cyd Notter. Books provided ($14).

If you would like to join this class please register HERE. We will meet on Wednesday evenings form 6:30pm - 8pm in the Chapel for 14 weeks. Sorry but there is no Zoom option for this class
A SAD LOSS
We were very sorry to hear that GCC member Pat Morgan passed away late last week. Please keep her family, and especially her daughters Chris Morgan and Steph Vogel who also attend GCC, in your prayers. You can read the obituary HERE. Services will be at GCC on Friday, October 21 with a visitation at 10am, service at 11am and luncheon after the service.
THANKSGIVING 2022
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24

This year we are planning to hold a Thanksgiving Dinner at GCC once again. We will be hosting recruits from Great Lakes and members of the community who would like to join us.

At present we are planning the event and need LEAD volunteers for the following areas.

  • LEAD Afternoon Meal Coordinator
  • LEAD Dish Washing
  • LEAD Greeter/Volunteer Sign-in Desk

If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact John Skillman HERE ASAP please. General volunteer signups and more information will come later.
KROLL'S FARM FALL FESTIVAL
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21
5:30 - 8PM
@ Kroll's Farm
We are looking forward to having a fun time at Kroll's Farm on Friday, October 21st from 5:30-8:00 pm. ALL GCC families are invited! You will have admission to the corn maze, hayride and visiting farm animals. There is also a small pumpkin for each child. The cost of the event is $10 per adult, $5 per child (12 and under), OR $30 per family. Light dinner, drinks and dessert are included. You must register ahead of time to attend. Register HERE.
TRUNK OR TREAT
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29
4pm - 5pm
GCC Parking Lot
Come dressed in your favorite costume (please avoid gory or scary costumes). Look at trunks decorated in fun Halloween and fall themes! Play games! Collect candy! ALL GCC families are invited to participate.

There are three ways to get involved with this event.
*Show up in costume
*Decorate your trunk and bring candy
*Help with games

YOUNG ADULTS LIFE GROUP
Starts October 5
A new life group for young adults will be meeting on Wednesday evenings starting on October 5. The group will be led by Laurel and Jacob Derenne and will begin with a study of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's book "Life Together". Each week time will be spent in fellowship, study and prayer.
