The Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater is holding Auditions for Disney’s Descendants the Musical on Thursday, April 21, 2022. Sign-in begins at 5:30pm. Auditions begin at 6:00pm. Auditions will be held at The Playhouse which is located at 44 North Potomac Street, Rear in the heart of Hagerstown's Arts and Entertainment District and City Center.
Changes are afoot in the kingdom of Auradon! Here, all of Disney’s favorite heroes and heroines are living in peace, happily ever after. Meanwhile, the evil villains and troubled sidekicks have been banished to the Isle of the Lost, where they are stripped of their magic and powers. Ben, the beloved son of King Beast and Belle, is about to be crowned as King of Auradon when he has a radical idea. He decides to invite four trouble-making offspring of the most wicked villains to take their places as students at Auradon Prep. Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos--the children of Maleficent, Grimhilde, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil--come to Auradon with an evil plan of their own. They have been tasked with stealing the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand and restoring their parents to power. However, will they go through with the plan? Or do they have the potential to learn to be good?
Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney’s Descendants: The Musical features the hit songs from the films.
This production will be directed by Shawn R. Martin with choreography by Shannen Banzhoff. A music director is to be determined. All roles are open. Must be 14+ to audition. Please prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. You may also be asked to learn/sing a song from Disney’s Descendants, so familiarity with the Disney Channel Original Movie soundtracks is highly encouraged, but not required. Be prepared to perform cold readings from the script. There will be a dance audition, so please bring or wear clothes and shoes that you can move in and that show our choreographer how you move.
All performers will be paid a per-performance stipend. Additionally, those cast will be given the opportunity to join the restaurant service staff (if legally eligible and following training) where they may earn gratuities.
Performance Dates (all performances in the afternoon): June 18, July 2, 16, 30, August 6, & 13. Possibly performances to be added on July 24, 31, August 7, & 14 depending on cast availability and audience demand.

Augustoberfest 2022 Vendor Application Now Available!
DEADLINE: June 1, 2022 or when openings are filled.
| |
|
The Augustoberfest Charitable Foundation ushers in the Oktoberfest season with a traditional local Bavarian Oktoberfest in August. Imagine a great festival in the heart of German-settled Washington County, Maryland, a county rich in German heritage and culture. We offer our festival in August to ensure the opportunity to have access to the best music and food available. The Augustoberfest celebration offers Bavarian food, music and dance in the tradition of Munich’s Oktoberfest. For the 25th year celebration, the Washington County Agricultural Center in Boonsboro will be host to thousands of people. This two-day event allows patrons to listen to authentic Bavarian bands, watch Bavarian dancers perform traditional dances, taste delicious Bavarian foods and take part in many activities for children and adults alike. A huge part of Augustoberfest is having a variety of craft and dessert vendors offered to the attendees so they may take a piece of their Augustoberfest experience away with them.
Each year the festival and its marketing have grown significantly. The fact that we are in the 25th year of a successful event’s existence says a lot about the continued success of marketing, advertising, and ticket sales. This year, Augustoberfest will take place on Saturday, August 20, and on Sunday, August 21. Vendor commitment time is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. We look forward to another year of increased interest and attendance from our community and beyond.
We invite you to be one of Augustoberfest’ s 2022 craft or dessert vendors. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit an application to vend at Augustoberfest. Entries are juried by Augustoberfest committee members in order to maintain variety, quality and originality. Please be specific about the items you plan to sell and include website/media links to aid in the decision process.
Please note, that the deadline for application is June 1, 2022. Once the openings are filled, we will not review further applications. I encourage you to complete and return the vendor application, (and all other required materials), as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact:
