"TALK, SING, AND POINT"
Talk, Sing, and Point helps the development of strong Language and Communication Skills
  • LANGUAGE and COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
  • Helps children understand others and express him/herself through words and gestures
  • Allow for the exchange of thoughts and feelings—and the development of loving relationships.
  • They are fundamental to other forms of learning.
  • As children learn new words, they learn about the things those words represent
  • Strong predictors of academic success.
  • LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE DEVELOPED:
  • When babies start to soak up sounds beginning before birth!
  • Through social interactions that are rich with child-directed speech.
TALK
Talking to your baby is an
important way to help
him/her grow.
It promotes
communication and
language development. It
also supports social and
emotional development.
Even before your baby
starts to talk, he/she
communicates through
facial expressions, body
language and crying.
Why SING?
It Introduces Language
It Builds Vocabulary.
It Soothes Children
It Promotes
communication
It Is One Form of Play
It Encourages Singing

WHAT'S THE POINT OF POINTING!
Pointing is a sign that a
baby has developed
certain social and
communication skills.
It makes the adults in the
baby’s life talk about what
the baby is pointing to.
Pointing has been linked
to language development.
