Show Your Love for Magnolia Village
A Fundraising Call to Action

We love Magnolia Village, you love Magnolia Village - let's maintain what we love!

Announcing a new February tradition - the month of love is all about nurturing and maintaining the streetscape improvements in Magnolia Village
Love Magnolia Village this February - let's maintain what we've built together

With the new dark green benches installed, 2022 begins with a big, heartfelt thank you to our donors for the beautiful streetscape improvements that welcome visitors and neighbors alike to Magnolia Village. We did it! Together, we completed Phases I, II & III of the Reimagine Magnolia Village project.

We cordially ask donors to join us this month - and every future February – and raise dedicated funds for maintenance activities. We will celebrate the month of love each February, starting in 2022, by loving Magnolia Village and ensuring our streetscape improvements stay beautiful and the business district looks clean, appealing, and inviting.

With your fiscal gift of love, you will help fund 43 flowering baskets to blossom and cascade from their perch on the decorative poles stationed along West McGraw from 32nd to 35th Avenue West. The Magnolia Garden Center will do the ordering, installation, and maintaining the baskets by doing regular watering and fertilizing. The local garden center is generously selling the baskets and flowers 'at cost' to the Magnolia Beautification Committee. Your February donation will also support regularly scheduled sidewalk cleanup, leaf blowing, and weeding.

Our goal for the month of February is to raise $31,000. Meeting our fundraising target makes sure the hanging baskets flower with gorgeous bloomy displays and all enjoy the cleanliness and comfort of our sidewalk tables, chairs, benches, and jaunty red umbrellas.

We also hope that one or two of our donors might step up and offer a fundraising match. Last February, our Love Match campaign was an overwhelming success in achieving the fundraising goals for Phases II & III. Together we'll start an annual tradition to address the needed maintenance of the Reimagine Magnolia Village project.

If you are interested in offering a February love match donation, please contact Cheryl at 206-390-8698 or cheryl.aaml@gmail.com.

"Around the Village" Updates and Thanks to our Volunteers

Morgan, our fantastic volunteer who helps keep our tables and chairs clean and sanitized, will hand out boxes of Valentine’s Day hearts to those shopping and visiting Magnolia Village. If you see her, please thank Morgan for a job incredibly well done (and one more great reason to donate to the love Magnolia Village maintenance fundraising effort.)

A special shoutout of appreciation to Martin Powers and Mike DuCharme. Joining with members of the Magnolia Beautification Committee, the all-volunteer brigade worked together to take down the festive holiday wreaths and install our winter-themed banners.

As reported last month, the Magnolia Beautification Committee is in the throes of final planning and designing for Phases IV & V to complete the Reimagine Magnolia Village project. Architect extraordinaire Don Gillmore is busy volunteering his talent and time to formalize the plan. He will submit it to the city of Seattle and looks forward to securing all the necessary approvals and permits. We hope to have more news by the end of February to officially launch the final two phases of the streetscape improvements project.

The team effort required to transform the Magnolia Village streetscape has demonstrated a genuine commitment on all levels. We applaud our volunteers and the gratis staffing for countless vital tasks and duties, the passion and stick-to-it attitude exuded every day, the significant community involvement, and of course, the investment made by all of our donors to the Reimagine Magnolia Village project.

This February, please join us by showing your love of Magnolia Village and donating today to maintain the streetscape improvements. Our thanks to you all, and happy Valentine’s Day on February 14th.
