Fifth Sunday of Lent
Greetings!

Although Lent does not end until before sunset of Holy Thursday, I’d like to think of the coming week as our final preparation for the great feast of our Lord’s paschal mystery, that is His passion, death, and resurrection. These days leading to holy week, the Church gives us some beautiful yet intense scripture readings. All of them, with the exception of Thursday, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, come from the Gospel of St. John. Read more...

To help guide you with your reflections during Lent, on Tuesday, March 23 at 7:00pm, I will be speaking about the importance of the Sacred Triduum – Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, and what this means for us. I will also be talking about why and how these Holy Three Days are ONE single event. I am inviting you to join us on our final Lenten Series Talk. Simply register on the website for the zoom link.

Please join us each Friday in Lent for Stations of the Cross.
Read on for more details and of other events.

God Bless,

Fr. Ritche

To donate via text, text ADA to 408-317-0990. To donate via QR code, open your camera app and focus on the image on the right. If you are unable to pledge, please pray for the success of the campaign. Thank you so much for your generous support!
Why do we cover Crucifixes and other images
during the final weeks of Lent?
In the Roman Missal we find the instruction, “In the Dioceses of the United States, the practice of covering crosses and images throughout the church from [the fifth] Sunday [of Lent] may be observed. Crosses remain covered until the end of the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion on Good Friday, but images remain covered until the beginning of the Easter Vigil.” Read more...
