Hello Josey,

Tiger Talk e-newsletters are distributed on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month as a way to keep our patrons informed with important school information. Archived editions can be found HERE. Have a great week!

SI Day September 30

REMINDER! There will be no school for students THIS FRIDAY, September 30 for a pre-scheduled School Improvement Day. This allows teachers to do professional learning and training.

School Meal Reminder

As we shared prior to the start of the school year, meals are no longer free for all students at school. However, free and reduced meals are still available for families who qualify. If you have not already filled out an application for the 2022-2023 school year, please do so in the SISK12 Parent Portal. We strongly encourage each family to fill out the form, even if you don't anticipate qualifying for the benefit.

An update: Starting October 5, students who received free and reduced meals last year, but have not yet qualified for that benefit this school year, will be charged the full amount for school meals.

School meal prices are noted in the graphic below. Meals may be prepaid by submitting cash/check to the school office or through the SISK12 Parent Portal.

Homecoming Spirit Week

It’s FOOTBALL HOMECOMING time and we are excited to launch a DISTRICT-WIDE SPIRIT WEEK to celebrate! October 3-7 all students and employees are invited to participate in the spirit days listed on the graphic leading up to the big game on Friday, October 7 against Branson!

State Assessment Individual Student Reports

Each spring students across the district participate in state assessments (MAP and EOC). We have been notified by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) that Individual Student Reports (ISR) will soon be available. The schedule for distribution of ISRs for students who participated in state assessments last spring is as follows:

  • ISRs for students currently in grades 4 & 5 will be distributed to families during Parent Teacher Conferences the week of October 24 (more information to come).
  • ISRs for students currently in grades 6-8 will be distributed to students the week of September 12 during LEAD.
  • ISRs for students currently in grades 9-12 will be distributed to students the week of September 12 during WIN.

Information on how to interpret your child's results will be included with the ISR. If you have any questions or would like to see your child's report prior to the distribution times, please contact your child's school counselor or Dr. Jennifer Renegar, District Test Coordinator at 732-3605, ext 6014 or [email protected].

Jordan Valley School-Based Care

At the Republic School District, we are grateful for our continued school-based health clinic partnership with Jordan Valley Health!

Jordan Valley's mobile unit will continue well-child checks on the second Monday of every month throughout the school year on school campuses. See the graphic for additional dates.

In addition, our school nurses can coordinate with Jordan Valley Health to set up a virtual visit during the school day with a Jordan Valley doctor or nurse practitioner for any student that is sick and needs to be seen by a practitioner for the following illnesses: strep throat, ear infection, sinus infection, rash, pink eye, stomach flu, bug bites, lice and congestion. The student will be able to return to class OR they will be given a diagnosis and will be ready to go home. If necessary, the provider will call in a prescription to the patient's pharmacy for them to pay for and pick-up.

This partnership is made possible primarily by funds provided by Jordan Valley Health Centers. Beyond office space for the on-site community health worker, this program has no other financial obligations for the district. Parents will never receive a bill for care. If the patient has insurance, that insurance will receive the bill. If the patient does not have insurance, Jordan Valley Health Center covers the cost of the visit and patients only have to pay for prescriptions, when needed.

This service will be optional, but available to all students. Registration forms will need to be completed before students can be seen. You can print a form and return it to school here. We're excited and thankful for this opportunity to partner with Jordan Valley Health Center!
