STRONG Prayer Leaders

Our 7th and 8th graders are hard at work planning for this year's Day of Prayer on Tuesday, February 15th. Before time began, God planned for our school to make a difference, and these students are leading the way!

This year's theme is "Shalom." Shalom is more than a Hebrew greeting. It's more than just about well-being. It is an understanding that we have a part to play in God's larger story. It is contentment found in Jesus no matter the cultural tides encircling us. When the shalom of the Lord is present, there is flourishing.

Our 7th and 8th grade Day of Prayer leaders are in the process of creating a meaningful experience for all students. Their plans include four prayer stations for classes to visit. Each station will have a prayer topic, an interactive experience, and encouraging scriptures that support the Shalom theme. Our station topics will be adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication.

The ACSI Day of Prayer is an annual event that advances Christ-centered education by advocating through prayer. On February 15th WCA will unite globally with other schools to pray and unleash the Lord's shalom into this world. This single day of prayer will be powerful, and we are thankful for the 7th and 8th graders that have faithfully stepped up to be our leaders!

NUTS - No Uniforms to School Day! Students may wear their own casual attire; uniforms are not required. Please bring $1 donation for Home of the Good Shepherd Orphanage in Kenya and $1 if your student would like to buy ice cream at lunch.

All WCA students will gather in the gym before carpool to cheer for our Hawks Basketball Team. We will introduce the team, hear from Coach Hastings and Mrs. Keen, pray together, and then Hank the Hawk will dance and lead us in a spirit competition by grade. Parents and Grandparents, we will live stream the Pep Rally on Facebook, so you can watch the fun happening. It will be a wonderful send-off to the tournament. Go Hawks!

Feb PTF Meeting - Canceled

The February PTF meeting is canceled. There are some fun upcoming events in the works. We look forward to discussing them at the March meeting. Please support the February mission, Operation Sandwich.

Operation Sandwich is a wonderful mission that provides a meal for our friends and neighbors in crisis and struggling with homelessness. Your child will learn about this mission in chapel. It is one of the many missions that Roof Above in Charlotte coordinates. Our goal is for WCA families to prepare 800 sandwiches at home and bring them to the morning carpool on Monday, February 14th. What a wonderful way to celebrate Christ’s love by taking care of our neighbors in need.

Flag Football

WUMC is planning an Upward Flag Football Season for boys and girls grades 1st-6th. Evaluations will be on Feb 26 at 9 am. The season will be from March 5 - May 14. Practice and games will be on Saturdays on the fields behind the Family Life Center. The cost is $135.
