Updates from Campus
We are looking forward to having all grades back on campus as of tomorrow! Grades 1-12 will be on campus 4 days a week (full days) with each class having one regular remote day. We are maximizing outside time and have some indoor class time now as well. We continue to follow thorough health and safety protocols and have instituted regular testing for older students and faculty.

Taking a Moment to Move and Breathe
Faculty Meeting Eurythmy
Engaging in a large group meeting has its challenges, even without the added layer of connecting virtually. For our students, we give them time to move, stretch, and engage their whole selves in an activity before they sit for desk work.

The faculty and staff take a few minutes at the beginning of each whole faculty meeting to share in the experience of a brief Eurythmy practice - which has perhaps been even more important as we gather on Zoom. Led by our Eurythmy teachers, we take time to stand, breathe, and ground ourselves as we open our own heads, hearts, and hands before we "get down to business."

Still Not Sure How to Define Eurythmy?
Eurythmy was started by Rudolf Steiner and Marie Steiner-von Sivers as a performance art to make music and speech visible in artistic form. There are three branches of Eurythmy - artistic, pedagogical, and therapeutic. For the students, its purpose is to awaken and strengthen their expressive capacities through movement and to improve balance, coordination, concentration, rhythm, and pattern awareness.
Online Explorations Course This Spring
Registration is now open for a new year of Explorations Online. This course is a group exploration of the mission of Waldorf education within the context of today’s changing society.

Explorations is designed for parents, grandparents, administrators, and new teachers in public and independent Waldorf schools, as well as those teaching children at home. Classes will include artistic work (speech/storytelling, movement, music, and pastel drawing) and contemplative studies on current issues, using Anthroposophy as a method of inquiry. We will look at a holistic view of the human being, self development, and current social and pedagogical needs.
