small-scale housing technical assistance program receives 24 pre-applications in round two
The deadline for pre-applications to participate in Round Two of CHFA’s 2022 Small-scale Housing Technical Assistance (TA) program closed on Wednesday, August 24th. This round marks the transition from the program operating as a pilot program, with limited participation to allow for program testing via a smaller audience, to a permanent program offering that is marketed statewide.

In total, 24 applications to participate in Round Two were received from communities such as Castle Rock, Cortez, Denver, Grand Lake, Ignacio, Julesburg, Lake City, Longmont, Meeker, Ridgway, San Luis, and Walden. CHFA is conducting concept meetings with selected applicants with a goal to support eight programs through the TA program this round.
summer outreach and engagement
The summer season was full of opportunities for CHFA to listen and learn from communities around the state about local needs and priorities. Through events and listening tours, CHFA connected with many stakeholders and community members. The valuable information gained will help CHFA identify trends and cultivate ideas to consider in its 2023 strategic planning.

community spotlight: mancos
Mancos is a rural town in southwest Colorado, located in Montezuma County, between Cortez and Durango and five miles from Mesa Verde National Park. In recent years, CHFA has had the opportunity to engage with multiple stakeholders and community leaders in Mancos to understand their local needs and ideas for solutions. As a result, CHFA has been proud to invest in some of these solutions. In August, members of CHFA’s staff and Executive Team toured the southwest Colorado region, which included a visit to Mancos to further engage and collaborate with the community.
