Weekly news & updates

February 26, 2021
Dear SCBA Parents:

-----Happy 1st week of Lent!  What a difference a week makes!  SCBA has enjoyed the warmer/more normal weather this week.  I loved seeing our scholars outside enjoying the sunshine.  I saw some of our ECC scholars laying on the ground with their coats on soaking up the sun!  So cute to see.

-----This week during our All School Mass, our 7th graders honored Mr. Willie Powell.  Mr. Willie, as he is called by all of the scholars, is a huge asset to our school and parish community.  The scholars wanted to thank him for his continued support  of the school.  Mr. Willie always has a smile on his face and is always willing to help in any way!  We are so blessed to have Mr. Willie as part of our team.   After Mass, he was talking with Ms. Mulvihill and myself and had tears in his eyes for all the kind things that were said about him by the scholars and Fr. Don.  He was truly touched.

-----Ms. Mulvihill is sponsoring a Woman’s Retreat on Saturday, March 13, 2021.  This would be a wonderful opportunity for our female scholars and their moms/grandmothers/aunts to participate in together.  This will be in-person, but it will also be livestreamed, so lots of options to participate in this event.

-----As we move forward with the school year and get closer to spring time, just a friendly reminder that we ask for all cars to enter in the mornings through the drive to the east of the Church and circle around the building.  All of the ECC and K-4th grade only scholars need to circle around the building to their drop-off location.  PLEASE DO NOT enter the front parking lot to bypass the line.  Our goal is to keep everyone safe, and we need all of us to do our part.

-----Thank you to all of our parents who have taken the time to enroll for the upcoming school year!  Please make sure to let us know your intentions for the 2021-2022 school year.

Many blessings,

Dr. Hopson

Camp Savio

It’s time for Camp Savio 2021 registration! Don’t miss out!! Those students completing 5th -8th grades may register online for the week of June 14th -19th . We have 20 spots reserved for our parish. Once those spaces are filled, you will be placed on a waiting list. Click below to register and to find out more. (Please note: Though it may say that the week is filled, there are still some of the 20 spots remaining. That has been confusing for folks.)

At Camp Savio, the motto is Play Hard, Pray Harder. There are daily games and activities, coupled with Mass, Adoration, and Confession.

Once you register online, the $150 deposit is due to the Parish Office by March 25th. The balance of $225 will be due to the parish by April 25th . We do have plans to do some fundraising to defer costs, which would lower the balance due in April.

Any adults who’d like to chaperone should contact the Parish Office @ 816.436.0880.
Other camp questions can be directed to Molly Berg @ 816.589.8818.
