Welcome to A Generous LIFE!

The stewardship team at Lord of Life has been collecting stories of God’s abundance revealed through the life and action of our congregation. We hope you enjoy reading about how your friends, pew-mates, and fellow disciples have been touched by God’s grace and are being led to lives of generosity.

When Neal Ray Stockham came to Lord of Life, he was looking for a church home where his family would feel welcomed into a safe place to worship and belong. His family had recently had a bad experience with a different local church. Neal’s entire family felt that their then teenage sons and the rest of the youth group had been put in a dangerous situation by the youth director, but the church leadership did not seem inclined to remedy the situation. Neal said that this experience “left a hole” in him.

Neal’s son was asked by the music director at Lord of Life to come and play trumpet at the 11am service. That happened to be “Rally Day” at Lord of Life, where Neal observed the church’s displays of carnival-booth-style various missions and volunteer opportunities. He was so impressed that he finally felt that this is a church that "walks the walk" and not just talks about how much good they do.

Neal appreciates that Lord of Life is an outward-looking church that truly helps others – not just says that they want to help others.

He says that he learned generosity from his grandmother. She was very poor without indoor plumbing or running water, but she was the first one in her community to help others in need.

Neal says that he chooses to support Lord of Life with his financial gifts because he knows that the money given goes to those that need it most. He hopes that Lord of Life continues to work hard to help others in our future.
