This Saturday, 4/9, our Caring Hands members will be planting the pots with flowers and writing cards to the residents of Green Meadows to give them some "spring spirit." They will also be decorating another 100 senior food boxes for the Chester County Food Bank.
The book exchange will also be taking place again this weekend for the entire community! Stop by at the GVCO Community Center Complex at 51 N Bacton Hill Rd in Malvern during any time between 12pm and 4pm to exchange some of your gently used books! The remaining books will be donated to the Chester County Library in May!

Challenger Gym
Challenger Gym is a recreational community gym program for kids who have physical, emotional and/or other extra challenges. The emphasis is on having fun by providing physical activities in which the kids can successfully participate, and forging relationships between kids with extra challenges and high school buddies.
After 2 long years, Challenger Gym is back and it has not disappointed. Parachute games, scooter boards, pop up tunnels, running “races”, bean bag tosses and hula hoop obstacle courses have produced squeals of delight, cheering, clapping and looks of pride and happiness.

Intern Spotlight -
Sammy Kavuri
Sammy is a Junior at Great Valley High School and a member of the school tennis team. She wanted to be a part of GVCO’s High School Internship program so that she would be able to gain real-life work experience that would eventually help her down the road when she chooses a career. Sammy also wanted to “pay it forward” because of the positive experiences she has had in the Great Valley Community.
Sammy believes that her organizational skills have helped her both on and off the court. A system of checks and balances allows her to make sure she gets all her assignments done on time. She carries her organizational skills onto the court by having a clear and organized game plan that she feels helps her have a better chance of winning the match.
When asked what is the best thing about the Great Valley Community, Sammy said:
I moved to the Great Valley School District in fourth grade. Ever since then I knew I had found a place where I belong. The community has been nothing but inclusive and giving me a place where I can live and learn by the people I love most. This is one of the reasons why I am so determined to give back and why I applied to the internship. I love that everyone greets you with open arms and focuses on giving you a sense of welcomeness which in my opinion is one of the best feelings. Through this community I know that I have made life long friends and learned lessons that I will never forget which is why I am so thankful to be a part of something this special.

The Barrow Family
Greg & Sandi both grew up in the area. Sandi is a proud GV alum. Greg owns an insurance agency, and Sandi is most proud of being a mom.
They first heard of GVCO when a little girl came to Jack’s preschool class with her Junior Hoopsters trophy. They knew immediately they had to get the boys involved, and it was love at first sight. The GVBL program was amazing & still is impressive today. Both boys played through high school. Ryan is still playing in the High School division.
In 2010 when GVCO started a youth football program with the Junior Patriots, Sandi & Greg knew their boys, 5 & 7 at the time, would be thrilled to jump on board. It was the best seven seasons ever with GVFL. Greg coached, and Sandi was a GVFL Board Member and League Representative for four seasons.
Not only playing the games & having fun over the years, but it is the life-long friends we have all made that are truly the magic of GVCO. It was essential to pass this spirit on to younger families by supporting GVCO and the new center.
We cannot wait to see all of the happy faces, young and old, at the new GVCO center.
