Upcoming UM Team COACH Trainings *

Attention parenting providers! Do you have skills you want to learn, questions you want answered, problems you want solved, or communities you want to build? Well then check out the UM Team Coach supports that we offer!


Live (Virtual) Trainings: 

1. Finding Stress Management Strategies that Work for You, Wednesday, December 13; noon to 1 p.m.

In this training you will learn and practice several stress reduction strategies to calm your body and mind. These techniques may also be used with parents and families that you work with. Click here to sign up or log in to Trust Academy!



Communities of Practice: Join a community where Parenting Providers support one another, share best practices and deepen their knowledge. CoPs are held monthly (the first week of the month) and are currently being offered virtually. 


  1. Parent and Provider Stressors & Barriers: This CoP is held on the first Wednesday of each month. The next CoP will be held on Wednesday, November 1 from 11 a.m. to noon. In this CoP, we will be identifying key stressors and barriers you and your families may currently be facing, as well as identifying and practicing strategies to solve these barriers.   2. Recruitment, Outreach & Creating Support Networks: This CoP is held on the first Thursday of each month. The next CoP will be held on Thursday, November 2, from 10-11 a.m. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to create networks of outreach and referrals across parenting providers in the community and discuss program recruitment strategies.   3. NEW! Starting From Scratch Series Community of Practice: Are you a parenting program provider? Are you confused about something as you start the new contract cycle? This CoP is for you! Come with your questions, and work with a community of fellow parenting program providers to find answers as we all navigate this transition to a new Parenting Program Contract cycle. The Advocacy Network on Disabilities is pleased to announce that its newest course, Getting to Know Me: K-5th Grade, is now LIVE in Trust Academy. This course will help you gain knowledge of the use and value of the Getting to Know Me form by identifying and addressing any strengths and interests, as well as addressing needs or challenges related to a child’s participation in your program. Upcoming Virtual Training Opportunities from Project RISE *

Reframing Conflict

October 19, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Learn to use a problem-solving approach to turn conflicts into educational opportunities. This workshop provides a six-step, youth-centered, non-threatening way of resolving conflicts that occur in youth settings. Take an implementation plan back to your program and learn more about items on the SEL PQA that will help you increase your CAT scores.


Ask-Listen-Encourage

October 27, 1-3 p.m.

Show the children and youth in your programs that you are interested in what they have to say. In this interactive workshop, youth development staff will learn how to ask effective questions, listen actively to youth, and offer encouragement beyond basic praise. Take an implementation plan back to your program.


Differentiated Literacy Instruction *

November 15, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

In this training, teachers learn how to use reading assessment data from the ORF and Maze assessments to identify struggling readers and to develop reading intervention plans unique to each student. Certified teachers will also learn how to create a plan of action to differentiate reading instruction.

Family Engagement and Post Secondary Preparedness Grant for South Dade Youth Serving Programs *

The United Way Miami Community Impact Team is searching for a new Impact Grantee program that serves youth in South Dade neighborhoods focused on family engagement and post-secondary preparedness. This is open to 501c(3) agencies that may have or not have had a relationship with United Way in the past. The grant is $30,000 for two (2) years and six (6) months, totaling $90,000. Grants Available for Local Projects in Line with Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative *

The Urban Institute and the Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative are requesting proposals for the next round of the Catalyst Grant Program, due November 17. Check out the grant application website to learn more about the program and how to apply. The grant program is seeking proposals for local projects that advance the focus areas of the Microsoft Justice Reform Initiative, which include supporting policies, programs, and practices that prevent unnecessary system involvement and decrease racial and ethnic disparities in policing and prosecution. Each grantee will receive funds to cover project implementation; assistance on data, policy, and community engagement from Urban Institute; access to Microsoft technology and related support; and peer learning opportunities.

Solutions Specialist - $55,968.20 - $97,944.35 Annual

The Solutions Specialist executes solutions design in response to business priorities and vetted requirements. This position conducts unit testing and validates use cases to ensure solution aligns with requirements. This position maintains and implements routine solutions under the guidance of senior TDS team members. Some key skills for this position include Data Modeling, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, SQL, Data Visualization, PowerBI, Unit Testing, Data Integration, Project Management and Critical Thinking. 

Business Controller - $85,120 - $148,961 Annual

The Business Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of The Children's Trust. This includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of the work performed by the Accountants, Senior Accounting Analysts, Accounting Operations Manager and Fiscal Data Integrity Analyst of The Children’s Trust in accordance with The Children’s Trust (The Trust) procurement and accounting policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP), regulations promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) and Government Auditing Standards. As directed by the Finance Director, the Business Controller will be engaged in key functions such as planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating the fiscal activities and functions of The Trust and its service providing organizations to ensure that daily and long term financial activities and controls are created and maintained to achieve organizational objective and safeguard assets.

Research & Evaluation Analyst (Early Childhood and/or Family Support Services) - $55,968 - $58,468 Annual

The Research and Evaluation Analyst is a critical member of both cross- and inter-departmental teams at The Children’s Trust who engages in proactive problem-solving and critical thinking/analysis related to the design and effectiveness of various child, youth and family services. Primary responsibilities include: contributing to effective program and systems designs for The Children’s Trust’s priority investments in child, youth and family services; designing and maintaining sound data collection tools and systems to capture meaningful program, operational and community data in a user-friendly, accessible manner; and analyzing and making meaning from available data to tell our stories using compelling visualizations and reports, with an intentional focus on the specific audience and purpose of the message.

The Director plays a leadership role in developing program, and research partnerships with the University of Miami, and maintains mechanisms for ongoing engagement of BTM college-based alumni.
