President's Message
It’s hard to believe that I am already well into my second year as president. Like most of you, I look back at the past year with both amazement and disbelief. While I am still in awe of the resiliency of our organization and what we were able to achieve despite the blows 2020 dealt, there is still so much to do! So onward and upward!

An area we wanted to focus on as an organization in 2020 was the next generation, both within WTS as well as in the transportation industry. Although times are still uncertain, this will continue to be a big push for us in 2021. We want to identify and grow talent, and to that end, I encourage you all to consider your next step within WTS. Encourage the young women (and men) in your organizations to consider joining us. Whether it’s becoming more involved as a volunteer, signing up to chair a committee or even considering joining the leadership team, there has never been a better time. As both WTS International (WTSI) and the Greater D/FW chapter continue to grow, there are so many opportunities to shape the future trajectory of women in transportation. International has kicked off its 2021-2025 Strategic Planning efforts, so if you haven’t already done so, make your voices herd by participating the Member Survey here.

Finally, I wanted to take a moment to honor Black History Month. This past year has reinforced the continued need we have in this country to overcome racism and injustice. And, while honoring Black excellence should never be confined to just one month, it is worth restating to you all the value your WTS Greater D/FW Chapter puts on diversity, inclusivity and respect. It is my sincere hope that everyone knows they will always have a place here with WTS.

As always, thanks for everything you do.

Sincerely,
Brittney Farr, Esq.
