The IDA's bill to reform dental insurance, HB 136, passed out of the House Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee on Monday by a vote of 10-2. The second reading of the bill took place this morning and now heads for a third reading, likely next week. We will keep members updated on the bill's progress.
The bill seeks to prohibit insurance companies from setting fees for dental treatments that they don't cover. This practice is already prohibited in 41 states.
