We again have the opportunity to pass out the COVID Rapid Tests at Parras Middle School. These tests, provided by the state of California, are free of charge to our students. We are handing out one kit per student, and each kit has two tests.
These kits are optional, however we recommend that all families take advantage of this opportunity AND test their student(s) the weekend before returning from spring break.
est kit distribution will take place on Tuesday, April 5th: 6:30 – 7:30 am via drive through, Thursday, April 7th: 3:30 – 4:30 pm via drive through. You may come during either time.
A parent/guardian can drive through the lot on Lucia Ave to pick up a kit from one of the tables that will be along the curb in the drop-off area right in front of the main office.
If you come on Thursday afternoon to pick up student(s) after school, please leave campus and return in the 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM window to pick up the kit. We need to keep traffic flowing during a span of time right after school gets out.
To receive the kit you may present any one of the following in person during the specific pick-up times:
The student’s Parras ID Card
Any report card or progress report from Parras with the student’s name on it
A screenshot of PowerSchool (after you have logged in) that shows the student’s name
Again, you will receive one kit from us for each student you have enrolled at Parras Middle School.

Throughout the month, Autism Speaks (a non-profit organization focused on advocacy and support, increasing acceptance, and advancing research into causes and better interventions for ASD), focuses on sharing stories and providing opportunities to increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism and fostering worldwide support. The #celebratedifferences campaign works to create connections and empower everyone in the Autism community to live fully. For more information, check out autismspeaks.org and autismsociety.org.
