Black Gold黒金 aims to encourage Black students to study abroad through celebration of Black community members in Japan, whose success stories often go unheard. The focus of the monthly clinics is on increasing access to quality healthcare for the underserved populations in East and North Dayton. Ohio Women’s Alliance is looking for volunteers to assist with the community event, educate the community about Issue 1, and join the march from the Montgomery Courthouse to Montgomery County Board of Elections to vote “Yes” on Issue 1! Registration can be completed online.
The Ohio Women’s Alliance and New Voices for Reproductive Justice are joining together to launch OH YES Reproductive Justice Blitz to build community and mobilize Black voters around Issue 1! Both OWA and NVRJ are the only Black led reproductive justice organizations working on political and voter education, advocacy, and protecting abortion access in the state of Ohio.

The 2023 theme Leading Through Adversity: Using Your Voice to Affect Change reflects the ever changing professional and socio-cultural challenges encountered by women in leadership. The ACE WNO is a network of women administrators, faculty, and staff from colleges and universities across the state that is dedicated to the professional advancement of women in higher education. The ACE WNO annual conference offers women the opportunity to reflect and focus on their talents, experiences, and goals while networking with women professionals from across the state. Attendees learn how to lean into our networks for sources of strength, perseverance, and support while navigating a changed higher education landscape. Along the way, we gain insight and develop skills in mentoring, coaching, and sponsoring each other and ourselves.

Door Canvassers will contact Ohioans to provide them with voter education and information surrounding the upcoming November election. Responsibilities include conducting community outreach by knocking doors as well as data collection and management. If you are someone who can commit to 4 hour shifts 3PM-7PM Wednesday-Sunday, this is the position for you. Additional positions as Door Canvasser Team Lead and Virtual Canvassers are also available!

Congratulations to Catherine Hernandez Hogan, who will receive a 2023 Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Award from the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs. The award recognizes groups and individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievements in their professional or community service endeavors and who serve as role models for the growing Hispanic/Latino community in Ohio.
