Professor Utpal Bhattacharya
Chair Professor, Department of Finance, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Professor Bhattacharya's research is about the dark side of financial markets. He believes, with apologies to Thomas Jefferson, that "the price of capitalism is eternal vigilance." He has been invited to present his research in 236 institutions in 35 countries in 5 continents, and his papers have been featured more than a hundred times in various media across the world, including six times in the Economist. He teaches in a different country every summer. He has taught at top universities in Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey, UK and the USA (Chicago, Duke and MIT.) His goal is to spread the gospel of honest finance to every corner of the globe.

Edwin Cheung
Vice Chairman (Development), Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong

Edwin Cheung is currently Vice Chairman – Development and the Chairman of the Professional and Ethics Review Committee for Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong. Edwin have extensive experience in the insurance and finance industry and was an award-winning wealth management professional before venturing into management ranks of the multinational insurance companies. Edwin has a passion for sharing his insights on wealth management and financial planning, and have made regularly appearances on media interviews and contributing various columns on newspapers and magazines, covering various topics on wealth management, and extensively on the insurance industry.

Angelina Kwan
Board Member, Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute

Angelina Kwan is currently the Group Chief Operating Officer and Group Risk Officer at HashKey Group, a digital asset management and financial technology leader. She has a strong background in financial regulation and operations as she established and ran the Regulatory Compliance Department at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited and previously worked at the Securities and Futures Commission as a Director of Enforcement and Supervision of Markets. Angelina is a Certified Public Accountant and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.

Sudesh Thevasenabathy
Asia Regional Lead, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Manulife

Sudesh Thevasenabathy brings with over 20 years of experience specialising in customer experience, process efficiencies and change management across multiple industries including telecommunications, consumer products, manufacturing, banking, healthcare tech as well as insurance, through his tenures with HSBC and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, AXA Hong Kong and now with Manulife.

Karen Au, CFA, CA, CPA
Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer, Asia Pacific, Wellington Management

As the chief compliance officer and money-laundering reporting officer of Wellington Management Hong Kong Ltd (WMHK), Karen Au is responsible for developing and managing the WMHK compliance program and team. She also directs the firm’s compliance efforts in the rest of the APAC region and manages the regional team.
