Back To School

We hope everyone had a great vacation! It is time to come back to ASOP! Teachers return to school on January 3 for Professional Development. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

We look forward to a wonderful second semester!

Congratulations to Graduates!

Congratulations to the seven ASOP students who completed their high school requirements in December: Lena B., Blane H., Ellie M., Reese N., Addie P, Shay S., and Jane T. We look forward to celebrating with them in May at graduation.

Giving Tuesday Donations

Thank you to the donors who have supported the Giving Tuesday Drive for $11,000 to purchase new computers for our teachers! So far more than half of the funds we needed has been donated! We are so appreciative of the support for our school and teachers as we work to provide the best education for our students.

New Baby Brings Donations

ASOP teacher Art and his wife, Jennifer, had a baby girl, Ruby, in December. Instead of receiving gifts, Art asked ASOP teachers and staff make donations to Happy Bottoms, a local organizations that provides diapers to families who need some help when they have a new baby. In all $150 was donated.

We wish Art and his family much joy with the arrival of Ruby!

Community Service:

Veterans Community Project

ASOP students collected 255 pairs socks before winter break for the Veterans Community Project (VCP).

On January 12, a speaker from the Veterans Community Project will make a presentation to our students about the project which helps homeless veterans. At that time the socks will be donated.

In late January and February, we will collect hygiene products for VCP.

Thank you for your support of our community service project.

Inclement Weather

With winter weather coming, be aware there might be days when we will not hold classes at ASOP. We will publish information on Facebook and the website, www.Acceleratedschoolsop.org, as well as on broadcast media if classes will not be held.

However, not coming into school does not mean there will be a traditional snow day. Teachers will post work for the students to do at home on Google Classroom.

Celebrations at Main Event

To celebrate the end of the semester, ASOP students enjoyed time at the Main Event. Middle school students went on Thursday, December 15, while high school students went on Sunday evening, December 19.
