Note from LCAC Executive Director
I look back on my time at the LCAC and can hardly believe it has been four years, and everything we’ve lived through together. We have since reached over 44,000 people directly with programming and leveraged millions of dollars in funding from partners in business, government, and individuals like YOU!
This is the Power of Comunidad in action! As we approach the end of 2023, join us for one-of-a-kind workshops, do your Holiday shopping with us, and please consider the LCAC for a year-end gift!
Un Abrazo,
Alfredo Reyes

The LCAC is Powered by Comunidad | |
At the LCAC, we believe collaboration and unity has the power to transform lives and societies. Each one of our supporters brings unique perspectives, experiences, and talents that, when unified, can lead to a stronger approach to tackling challenges that we are facing.
Here are examples of how we have used art towards healing and resilience:
-
The Water Ceremony Mural created a dialogue about the endangered Colorado River and encouraged reflection about environmental stewardship
-
The Public Art Mentoring Program is addressing the age gap of youth under 25 years applying for and receiving public art commissions
-
Viva Southwest keeps Mariachi alive through cultural advancement and celebrates the musical excellence of youth across Colorado
-
Ofrendas combines art and social impact to destigmatize mental wellness while teaching the Indigenous roots of Day of the Dead
Join our Comunidad of donors and encourage others to do the same! By becoming a donor, you will be part of a vibrant and caring community that is dedicated to creating positive change across the Americas.
The LCAC is much more than a cultural arts organization;
It’s a Movement Powered by YOU, Nuestra Comunidad!

The LCAC Hosts Paper Quilling Workshop with CoBank Employees in Honor of Latino Heritage Month |
On September 26, we hosted a paper quilling workshop for 100 employees at our partner CoBank's headquarters, led by Hijos del Sol local artisan Clarissa Fierro. It provided a platform for them to explore their artistic side, bond with colleagues, and learn new skills. We are thrilled to support such a talented team in the agricultural industry across Colorado and the nation! A special thank you to Trina, Samantha, Aileen, and the entire CoBank Team for making this possible!
Clarissa Fierro is a member of the North American Guild of Paper Quilling. Not only is she an exceptionally talented artisan, Clarissa is a great educator and researcher, who shared that Spanish nuns became intrigued with the technique because it resembled metal filigree. The combination of accessibility, beauty, and meditative nature of the craft makes paper quilling a timeless craft.
