Faculty Spotlight

This month's spotlight is on Mind-Builders PYT Theater Director, Willa Bostl!

Willa made her Broadway Debut as Idella Landy in Purlie Victorious!

The new Broadway show follows Purlie (played by Leslie Odom Jr), an African American preacher who plans to reclaim his inheritance and win back his church. The show uses humor to address issues of racism and inequality.

The show is a must-see that many of our staff have already watched! Congratulations Willa!

Mind Your Beat Dance Battle

Saturday, November 4 | 7:00PM-8:30PM

Come watch our youth show off their dance moves and battle it out at the Mind Your Beat Dance Battle. Contestants have a chance to win a $200 Cash Prize!

Featuring guest judges and a live DJ!

Entry Fee: $5 For Spectators (Contestants Free)

Living Your Art Workshop

This FREE workshop is led by renowned director, writer, actress, and master teacher, Hilda Willis and is ideal for professional artists 18+ seeking focus, networking, and personalized strategies for success.

Last month we had the 1st Mind Your Beat Battle of the season and it was WILD! The energy in the room was crazy and the judges said it was our best one yet! Join us for the next!

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

After eight years in the making, we were thrilled to celebrate the opening of our dazzling new playground and performance space made possible thanks to support from NYS Assembly Speaker Carl E. Heastie and former NYS Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson.

Open House New York

Last month we participated in the 21st Annual Open House New York (OHNY) Weekend! We were thrilled to show our history and programs with newcomers who had never visited Mind-Builders before.

Harvest Festival

Every year our Annual Harvest Festival gets bigger and better! The kids (and parents) had incredible costumes! The way our students were going on the catwalk, you would think they were runway pros!
