JJ, Brecca, and Cami Cleveland are excited to be part of the fellowship of believers at Rainbow Presbyterian Church.

JJ hails from Oceans Springs MS., while Brecca grew up in Birmingham. They met at Mississippi State University (GO Bulldogs!). This December they will celebrate 25 years of wedded bliss. They have three children: Thomas (22), a senior at Samford University majoring in Public Relations (and open for job offers :), Timothy (20), a junior at Samford majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy and Cami (17), a high school junior.

Hiring a New Children's Director
As many of you know, Carmela has taken a new role at Rainbow. We are so indebted to her for her tenure of 17 years of faithful service to our families in this church. Therefore, we are beginning the process of looking for a new Children's Director. We are thinking that this position will be part-time.

If you are interested in this position,
or if you know someone whom you think we should speak with regarding this position, please contact Carmela Garcia (256-441-5433) or Dick Cain (205-500-2002).
Rejoice always, pray continually,
give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Men's Gathering
Mark your calendar for a men's kickoff event on Sunday, April 25th, at 6 PM, at RPC. Special speaker, Rick Burgess will discuss "Biblical Manhood" while we enjoy a BBQ dinner.

Invite a neighbor or friend to attend this free event. Scott Reynolds is helping us begin a small group discipleship ministry to our men called "Man Church."
The small group material is entitled "The Pursuit."
The first five-week study on "Identity" will begin soon.

Our New Scripture Memory Verse for April: 1 Peter 2:9-10
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

One of our core values at Rainbow is that we believe the gospel liberates us from idols to joyfully worship the living and true God. The ultimate goal of all of human history is worship (see Revelation 7:9-10). The goal of your own salvation is worship. 1 Peter 2:9-10 clearly sets forth three things:
Who we are as Christ-followers, what we are to do and why we are to do it. If your faith is in Jesus, you have been transferred out of the kingdom of darkness and have become a member of his kingdom of light. This should ignite our hearts to worship - both personally and corporately.
