I am excited to announce the inaugural recipients of the Longsview Fellows Program. The program funds interdisciplinary collaboration at the intersections of Drexel researchers’ existing expertise in one of the four pillars of the college strategic plan. Save the Date: CoE Celebration of Excellence
The College of Engineering will host its first annual Celebration of Excellence on Thursday, June 3 at 4 p.m. during a virtual event to honor student recipients of prominent fellowships, scholarships, and awards, including external, University, and college awards. Additional details to follow.

NSF Funds Solid Solution MXenes and Polymer Crystals Research
|
The research will investigate potential applications of MXenes for solar cells, optical filters, drug delivery, immunotherapy, and more. Read more.

Ivan Bartoli, PhD, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, was interviewed in a March 31 WCAU-TV (NBC-10) story about President Biden’s new infrastructure plan and the need for infrastructure improvement and maintenance in the region.
Kapil Dandekar, PhD, Colehower Chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering, coauthored a March 30 column in Mail & Guardian (South Africa) advocating for the expansion of community service-based learning in engineering education.
Yury Gogotsi, PhD, Distinguished University and Bach professor in materials science and engineering, was quoted in a March 24 Chemistry World story about research from the University of Missouri and Argonne National Lab looking at the possibility of using MXene as a lubricant for aerospace vehicles.
