Pickleball Courts at Behm Park Are Open

The wind screens have all been installed at Behm Park and the pickleball courts are ready for the season.

2022 Saturday, May 14th Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Day

Postal Carriers collect non-perishable food donations left by mailboxes and in post offices and deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters. The Fremont Township food pantry receives food from this drive. We appreciate you donating.


One in eight Americans face hunger every day in America. This drive is one way you can help those in your own community who need help.


Please check the dates on the food. before donating.  Expired and opened packages are not accepted.

Fremont Cert

The Fremont Cert Team wants to know if you are interested in learning about Cert. Cert provides information on how to provide safety for you, your family and your neighbors in normal times and in times of disaster. To help them plan a possible class in the fall or spring of 2022 or 2023, please email them at 3jham@earthlink.net to tell them Yes you are interested, or No you are not interested.

****As of April 26, 2022 our highway department is temporarily discontinuing our culvert replacement program due to this season's work load and short staffing. If you choose to replace your driveway, please call us for a culvert inspection. We will provide a replacement pipe if one is needed. We will continue to replace collapsing or failing driveway culverts.

Childhood Holocaust Survivor to Speak at Congregation Or Shalom

The Kirk Players will be presenting the classic play, The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, on June 10th-12th, 2022 at Mundelein High School.

 

In the spirit of the education and history that inspired the book and play, Kirk Players is honored to partner with Congregation Or Shalom in Vernon Hills and The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center and to join with our communities in remembering the Holocaust with a very special program.

 

They hope that you will join them as they welcome Samuel R. Harris, a child survivor of the Holocaust, to share his knowledge and memories of that time. His wife, Dede Harris, a narrative artist, will also speak at the event.

 

Date: Tuesday, May 17th, 2022

Time: 7:15 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Place: Congregation Or Shalom, 21 Hawthorn Pkwy, Vernon Hills

There is no charge for this event; donations are welcome at the event to support the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center

 

o  They plan to hold the event outdoors; they will move inside in the event of bad weather

o  Masks will be required

o  Recommended for ages 12 & up

o  Q&A session will be held after the speakers have concluded.

Lake Forest Civic Orchestra Presents From the Four Corners

Join them for the Pre-concert discussion at 3:00 PM 

The LFCO takes a musical trip around the world with music from the North, South, East, and West. We begin in Eastern Europe, specifically Romania, with George Enescu's Romanian Rhapsody No. 2. From there we head north-east to Armenia, where MYAC Walgreens Concerto Competition winner William Lewis will present Alexander Arutunian's Concerto for Trumpet. We then head to South America with Arturo Marquez's Danzon No. 2 and close the program with Aaron Copland's depiction of the American West, Four Dance Episodes from "Rodeo."


The concert takes place in the John & Nancy Hughes Theater of Gorton Community Center.

Brush Chipping Dates For Unincorporated Fremont Township Residents

Brush chipping dates for unincorporated Fremont Township residents residing on township roads are as follows:


May 10th – Oak Terrace

May 16th – Countryside/Steeplechase

May 23rd – Sylvan Lake

May 31st – Properties not part of an HOA on Fremont Township Roads and             unincorporated properties on Fremont Township Roads

June 14th – West Shoreland and West Shore Park


Please have your brush out by 7am on the scheduled day. Pending weather and participation, it may take several days to finish.   


As a reminder, this service is intended for spring cleanup done by homeowners. This is not intended for lot clearing or cleanup after tree companies. Piles that do not conform with our brush chipping policy will not be chipped.

Your Donations Go To Local Rescues

The local animal shelters are in need of sheets, towels, small throw rugs and blankets. There is a bin on our front porch at 22385 Route 60, Mundelein, if you have any old bedding you would like to donate. No pillows! The donations get distributed to local shelters. We also accept leashes, collars, toys, pet food etc.

Recycle Items at Fremont Township

Our shoe bin is also on our front porch and we are accepting shoes to be recycled and reused. We recycled 1547 pounds of shoes last year. Please tie or rubberband the shoes together when you drop them off.


We accept yarn in our office.


We accept eyeglasses and hearing aids in our office.


We accept American Flags in our office.


The textile bin is also open and is located in our parking lot. Click here to see what we accept.

What Are We Able to Put in the Textile Box in the Parking Lot?

Please use our white textile bin in our parking lot to recycle your items.

We accept new, gently used and worn.

This is a full-circle program. Your donations of new and gently used clothing and textiles -which will be reused- allow us to continue programs and recycle any worn-out/stained items we receive, turning them into usable new products.

Please put shoe donations in the bin on our front porch.
