It's amazing what you can accomplish
If - - -
You don't care who gets the credit.

< Harry S. Truman 33rd US President>
Good Morning,

If a job is really worth doing, it should be worth doing, no matter who gets credit for suggesting it or getting it done.

Too often, great ideas are scuttled by leaders because it is the idea of someone who might want their jobs. Too many fight to take credit for something good that happens but throw others under the proverbial bus when something goes wrong. Many a great idea has been squelched because it would make the wrong person look good. Better to let the bridge fall down than letting so and so get credit for the building of a new one. In most cases, this is insecurity raising its ugly head. It is a need to feel in control and important, by making others look out of control and insignificant.

A good leader will encourage ideas, cultivate ideas, and recognize others for their great ideas and great successes. Far more gets done when we all circle around the good idea and, together, make it happen rather than ignoring it or actually fighting against it to keep someone else from being seen as successful.

If it is a great idea, let’s get behind it no matter who gets the credit. Give credit where credit is due.  Not only will more get done but we will make someone else's day, someone who may well have other great and beneficial ideas.

Have a great week,

Jim
