Webinar: Girls STEAM Ahead with NASA Resources in Action
October 17, 2023, 12:30 PM Pacific / 3:30 PM Eastern
The Girls STEAM Ahead with NASA program, part of NASA’s Universe of Learning, provides resources and experiences that enable youth, families, and lifelong learners to explore fundamental questions in astrophysics, experience how science is done, and discover the universe for themselves. Registrants will hear directly from this year’s 2023 GSAWN stipend recipients who are using these free resources and get ideas to implement in their own programs.

Advancing the Conversation on Scaling National Informal STEM Programs
This past May, NGCP and Education Development Center (EDC) hosted a conference, funded by a National Science Foundation grant, which brought together voices across the informal learning ecosystem to consider how to equitably scale informal STEM programs. National Aviation Day
August 19, 2023 is National Aviation Day, and the IF/THEN Collection has resources to celebrate it with role models like Nikki Sereika, an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, and Adele Luta, a Scientist & Innovator. Additionally, NASA provides NASA’s Aerospace-related STEM Resources for K-12, which includes lesson plans with hands-on activities and STEM toolkits about sustainable aviation and other topics.

Techbridge Girls Programming Information Session
Techbridge Girls is recruiting out-of-school time (OST) educators to participate in STEM and equity training, curriculum, resources, and ongoing support. Services equip educators with gender- and culturally-responsive teaching tools and program materials to support youth persistence in STEM and expose girls to BIPOC peers and role models from STEM fields. All OST program partners who serve Black, Indigenous, and Latina girls and gender-expansive youth are encouraged to apply.

National Citizen and Community Science Library Network
Calling all library partners! The National Citizen and Community Science Library Network is a collaboration between NGCP, SciStarter, and Arizona State University to support libraries in transforming into vibrant community hubs for citizen science. You are invited to join this expanding network of libraries actively engaging their local communities in meaningful science. Network members receive free resources, unique professional development opportunities, and technical support. Together, we are creating a supportive and inclusive environment where science becomes accessible to everyone.

CSTA Equity Fellowship
The CSTA Equity Fellowship is a selective, year-long program designed to develop leadership in equitable teaching practices and advocacy. The program will both provide leadership development opportunities to the fellows and identify opportunities for the group to develop ongoing, peer-to-peer professional learning experiences focused on addressing issues of equity in the computer science classrooms for all CSTA members. Applications are due August 11, 2023.
