From Chief of Staff Desirae Colvin and Interim Public Safety Director Deborah Huggins:

Please note: This memo includes revisions to the version distributed on August 7

Effective August 14, a QCard (Queens College ID card) is no longer required to be tapped/shown to access campus between the hours of 6 am and 11 pm; the campus is open to both QCard holders and guests to the campus. During these hours, all campus pedestrian gates are accessible with the exception of the Colden Center pedestrian gate which is temporarily closed due to construction.

From 11 pm to 6 am, Summit Apartment residents*, and authorized essential staff, faculty, and research personnel (staff or students) can access campus, contingent upon showing a valid QCard when entering campus. During these hours, the Main Gate at Kissena Boulevard and Gate 3 at 153rd Street and Reeves Avenue are accessible to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Please note:

QCard tap-in will still be required to access Rosenthal Library and Queens Hall buildings.

Parking decal checks will continue to be enforced at all gates.

Also a few reminders:

• All QC students, faculty, and staff are required to obtain a QCard.

• As printed on the back of the QCard, the card must be carried at all times and must be presented to a college official upon request.

Thank you for your cooperation, and thanks to all in the campus community who contributed input as we reviewed campus access.
