Message from our President
Dear Members,
Our Chamber is filled with optimism and energy. We had the privilege of hearing from Greta Seidman of Brightline West about high-speed rail from Rancho Cucamonga to Las Vegas while enjoying a fabulous meal at Cara Mia Italian Restaurant. This privately funded project will bring jobs to our region, reduce traffic on I-15, and make Rancho Cucamonga a destination. Our Chamber is excited to support this project and hope you will too.
We had the privilege of welcoming Synergi Orthodontic Specialists and Bristol Hospice to our Chamber. Please support these fantastic local businesses. On August 9, we welcome Comar’s new 230,000 square foot manufacturing plant – a state of the art facility that brings jobs and revenue to our City.
We welcome State Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh to our BCN Luncheon on August 5. This is a great opportunity to bring your legislative and policy concerns to our local representative. Senator Bogh authored SB657, which was just signed into law by the Governor, and makes life easier for employers by allowing them to disseminate information to employees electronically. The Chamber appreciates this commonsense reform.
The Chamber monitors proposed legislation pending in Sacramento. We oppose AB286 which would place undue burdens on our restaurant members and their delivery partners. The restaurant industry has suffered this past year and imposing additional regulations is the wrong approach. The Chamber supports AB110 and SB39, which are bipartisan efforts to prevent fraudulent payment of unemployment benefits.
As we move forward through the summer, we hope your businesses will continue to grow and thrive. The one constant concern we hear from all business owners is that there are not enough workers available. Our businesses cannot grow if we do not have people to do the work. Therefore, the Chamber will be speaking with our elected leaders to address this growing concern. Simply put, we need to motivate people to work by ending incentives not to work.
The RC Chamber is here to Advocate – Connect – Educate. Please feel free to email me at Chairman@ranchochamber.org with any questions or concerns.
