The Skokie School Home Scoop

Dear Skokie Community,

I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day with your families yesterday. As we all know, February is a challenging month here in Chicago due to the cold air, the dark nights, and being stuck inside. Every one of us could use a little extra light and love to brighten our days.

This weekend, I found myself trying to cherish the little things. Even after I had read my 18 month old Little Blue Truck's Springtime ten times, I tried to focus on the way he cuddled into my lap to enjoy it, rather than the monotonous storyline. As I baked brownies with my five year olds, I tried to focus on the smiles on their faces and their laughter rather than the spilled ingredients and extra mess.

As we continue to support our fifth and sixth graders at school and at home, please join me in finding the beautiful moments they create. We all need the extra joy that children bring right now!

A Neighborly Reminder: Winnetka Public Nursery School Pick Up Line
If you are picking up your Skokie student at 11:30 a.m. for dismissal on Oak Street, please be aware of the Winnetka Public Nursery School circle driveway and the car line leading up to it. We would like to be good neighbors to our friends at the nursery school and ask for your support keeping traffic moving safely for all families who are picking up their children.

Take care,
